It was suppose to be a three man team.. floor damaged
It was suppose to be a three man team. Driver arrives. One helper. He walks off. Big gash in the master bedroom hard floor after moving the king size metal frame. He points to it as I was responsible. Now the owners are keeping my $2,300 deposit. Plus, this move cost $1,000 for one person. Also, I felt sorry for him. So, I even helped him move furniture. Couch, love seat, king size bed, two desks and less than 10 boxes. I filled a 20' Uhaul the night before with studio gear and things I prefer to move myself. Fragile. Expensive.

Not great, but an ok experience
My experience with Next Stop Relocation was a mixed bag. At the start, before signing the initial Estimate, everything was going well.
A guy named Mark Edwards in sales signed me on initially, confidently telling me that 984 cubic feet would suffice and that he has provided me enough cushion incase there are minor changes to my quantity of items to move. On our "quality assurance" call, Michael Chase talked me into buying up the cubic feet that I would need to move all my stuff. He had me sign up for an additional 216 cubic feet, for a total of 1200 cubic feet. Telling me that, unlike Mark, he has more experience loading trucks and recommended that I would need more space and that I would not take more than 1100 cf. My final load on moving day came to 1560 cf, for 1 bedroom, living room, and household items.
So even after going through two rounds of estimates with their sales department, I ended up paying a lot more.
This was a misrepresentation. I wish they would have made more accurate representation of how much space my stuff would occupy. This would helped us better plan for what to move and what to get rid of, or better negotiate total cost with their sales people.
I found myself paying almost twice as much for my move when it was all said and done. There was no change in my initial inventory count, which I extensively went over with Mark versus what was actually moved on the day of.
Furthermore, after signing and paying the initial deposit, it was impossible to get a hold of Mark or Michael. I tried multiple times to discuss my concerns but could not make contact with them. Even their customer service lady couldn't seem to get a hold of them.
The actual movers, Flash Move Experts, arrived on time and did a great job in handling our stuff and moved us 1600 miles without any major issue. Their manager Mahmoud was helpful in listening to our concerns and assisted us the best he could.
Had I knew better, I would've contacted Mahmoud directly and arranged our move, without first dealing with the people at Next Stop Relocation.
