Hi Leslie, Thank you for your feedback and we apologize for any difficulties you have experienced with Nexamp. Since your utility is the one to value and apply the solar credits to your bill, Nexamp does not charge a fixed rate per kWh for your electricity. Instead, we match the value of the credits that were generated to offset your existing utility bill, and then provide a 10% discount which provides you with net savings. After reviewing your account, it appears that your calculations were using the standard offer service rate that is listed on your utility bill. However, according to Potomac Edison’s pricing regulations, your total electricity costs (and the value of our solar credits) are calculated by using the total of the Supply, Transmission, and Distribution rates on a monthly basis. These solar credits can only reduce the charges directly associated with your usage and not the additional surcharges or fees set by the utility. Hi Carla, Thank you for your feedback. We are able to see that you requested to cancel your subscription with Nexamp in January of this year. As mentioned in the contract you signed when joining our program, as well as in the correspondence from our representatives, the cancelation process can take up to 90 days. Nexamp works with your utility to provide updates regarding our customers’ subscriptions on a monthly basis. Since the solar credits are applied directly to your National Grid bills, the cancelation timing also relies on the utility to no longer do so. It is also important to note that Nexamp bills our services in arrears, so there is always a delay between when you see credits on your National Grid account and when we bill you. This explains why you received and paid Nexamp invoices after your cancelation request date. The final invoice that you received in April is for solar credits that were produced through January, which was the time of your cancelation request. After reviewing your account, we are able to see that you have been officially canceled, and your balance is up to date. There is no further action needed on your part. Hi Linda, thank you for your feedback. Our records indicate that you signed up with Nexamp on 9/29/20. In May, once your farm in Maine went live, we sent out a reminder email with a refresher regarding our billing system. We do apologize if you were not able to read this email before your first Nexamp invoice was sent out. Nexamp does operate on a two-bill system currently, and our team is always available to help answer any questions. You should have seen your electric bills reduce dramatically when the Nexamp credits were applied to your Versant bill this summer. I do see that you were already able to speak to some of our team members, but please let us know if there is anything else that we can help clear up. As a refresher, Nexamp does not invoice our customers until we have received confirmation from the utility (in your case, National Grid) that the credits have been applied to the customer's account. Hello, thank you for the feedback. We take your concerns seriously and want to provide you with a detailed response. On September 28, 2020 you signed a contract with Nexamp to receive 15% off the purchase of solar energy credits from one of our projects in Maine. This discount will reduce the amount of money you pay for electricity, which we believe is a valuable benefit for individuals on a fixed income. You are still receiving your electricity from Central Maine Power, but your bill to them is reduced by the value of the community solar credits you receive from Nexamp. We provide those credits to you at a 15% discount, so a $100 in credits only costs you $85. This savings can be very beneficial to those with a lower income, and Nexamp prides itself on supporting those that would most benefit from community solar. You can utilize both community solar and ELP, which you get through York Community Action Program, to maximize the value of both programs. You contacted Nexamp on October 12th with the support of York Community Action Program. At that time, we provided you with a copy of your signed contract. You did not request to cancel your service at that time, but we will consider this complaint a request for cancellation. As a show of good faith, we will waive the bill you received from us. It typically takes several cycles for CMP to remove you from the community solar program so you will likely see additional credits on your bill. These will be yours, free of charge. With this cancellation you will no longer be eligible to receive your 15% discount, but should you ever wish to re-sign up with Nexamp we will gladly place you on our waiting list.

Hi Betsy. Thank you for writing in regarding your experience with Nexamp. We apologize that this was not an ideal billing experience for you. Generally, we can expect subscribers to expect larger invoices with periods of summer solar generation. When the sun is at it's strongest, our solar farms produce more energy credits which can then be applied to winter electricity bills when generation is not as high. Because of the seasonality of solar energy, the 20% savings can be seen as an annual savings. Additionally, many utility companies across the company have increased their supply rates in recent months. For example, Ameren's supply rates have increased dramatically this summer. Because Nexamp uses these rates to calculate the value of the solar energy credits, customers may have seen credits increase in value as well.
