I live in a densely wooded area in the Hudson Valley. While my house gets some sun in the morning, it is not enough for solar panels on my roof to be worthwhile. So when I heard about community solar projects, like Nexamp, I was intrigued, but very skeptical. After some investigation, and with some trepidation, I signed on with Nexamp a bit over a year ago and now am very pleased with that decision. While it is not possible, with any precision, to determine how much money I save, I do know that my monthly invoices from Nexamp are not as great as what used to come from the utility, and those that come from the utility are always a negative number credit (no, wait, there was one month last winter when I had to pay the utility about $30). I have a good sized home and we use way too much power; our electric bills were nearly twice what the utility reported as the "average" in our area. Whatever I save, it is less than I spent before, and even if it were not, I feel better knowing that I am contributing clean, solar energy to the grid from the panels that I rent somewhere north of my home, in an adjoining county. I feel best when I plug my Tesla Model 3's charging cable into the vehicle at night, knowing that I am powering that battery electric automobile as sustainably as is possible at this time. I hope that community solar continues to grow in popularity and become more and more common to help us save the planet if it is not already too late.

I trust Nexamp because it is not simply a marketer. Nexamp develops, markets, and manages its projects. It has maintained a 10% discount from the utility rate, whereas most solar projects have a 5% discount at this time. When I purchased an electric vehicle, I was able to increase my solar allocation. Although I've changed to automatic billing, Nexamp keeps me well-informed so that I can ensure the billing is correct.
