NO TOTE BAG after 4 months! While I was living in Paris, FR, I had to insist to have the tote bag promised, after some years I stop the and now from Stockholm I subscribed again for digital instead...and I wanted the tote bag with the owl...since January 9th(today is May 18th) I've asked and being promised by e-mail and hinted that I've been dihonest because they can "see" that the tote was posted...but I didn't receive it. Period. 100th anniversary and Conde Nast can send us a tote bag???

Paid for a full annual subscription last december. Have not received a single print issue in 5 months. Support keeps promising to escalate and start an investigation. No one ever reached out to me. They refuse to refund. I got scammed of 200+ USD

Och kan inte vara något förstående när man förklarar att man har 10 mil till en butik. Helt enkelt inte serviceminded alls ! Ska aldrig handla på new yorker i kalmar igen.

Upon arrival the hotel charges you a facility fee for international calls and WiFi which should be included in any basic hotel. They will gain your credit card details for this. You are then directed to the club Wyndham desk with staff members trying to give a gift of a seven night stay in their hotel which is a clear time share promotion for a two hour presentation. The international calls as part of the facility fee may in fact be useful for contacting your credit card company on the next part of the hotel’s scam. They will place a letter in your room with a fabricated allegation that you have smoked in the room. Often this will be after you have completed a lengthy flight and they will not waive the charges. Despite the hotels insistence of trying to combat the alleged smoking inside rooms they don’t seem to care of the strong majrauna smell in the lobby.

Brilliant magazine, unbelievably appalling 3rd-party subscription service. Constant screwups requiring multiple emails to resolve. Just complete contempt for subscribers.

I had been subscribed to receive The New Yorker digital for $4/mo. When the one year mark came up, I received an email notifying me of the higher rate. When I called to cancel, TNY told me I could get digital and print for $78 per annum, just a little more than the digital only (4x12 = 46). So on 11/13/25 I was billed and paid $78. I was told I'd receive the print edition in 4-6 weeks, ie by end Dec. '25. Since I still hadn't received the print edition at that time, I called on 1-5-26 and was told the issue was fixed and I'd receive the print in Jan. I called again 1-24-26 since I still hadn't received the print and was told the prior agent hadn't escalated my call. The person I was speaking to disconnected me when I asked for a refund. I called back and was told by another rep that the $78 was nonrefundable (which I was not told when I signed up). When I had calmed down I called again and was told I would be refunded in 5-7 business days. I asked to return to digital only for $4/mo and they said ok. The reps have been trained to repeat back everything you say to them which is highly annoying. The whole experience was exasperating. If I didn't love the writing in TNY I would not put up with it. I wonder why a high quality mag like TNY can't manage subscriptions better? Why is it so difficult to mail a magazine to BOSTON?

I purchased a gift subscription to the New Yorker. The recipient couldn't create an account because the recipient account number and my account are not recognised. I contacted by chat and was advised to call another area as they could not find my account number. I then rang them and was passed around to three agents for 45 minutes on an international call. The agents were hopelessly out of their depth. They simply did not know what to do. Eventually the last agent simply hung up on me. I then sent 4 emails and received various responses. None addressed the issue of not being able to create an account. However they keep asking me for my information. Perhaps they could actually read the email chain. I pointed out I included my information in each reply. At this stage asked for a supervisor to call me and this has not been done nor have I received an acknowledgment of my last email. While the New Yorker may have a reputation for being a high quality magazine the customer service is appalling. I certainly will not purchase a gift subscription again or take out a subscription for myself. New Yorker- DO BETTER. Update-I reported the matter to PayPal dispute service I outlined my issues and lack of communication-provided evidence and PayPal has refunded the outstanding amount.

READ BEFORE you buy a digital subscription on iOS: App does not fuction properly. Difficulty accessing or managing account and subscription from the app or Safari on a desktop. Constant login issues, whether using saved passwords or iOS Passkeys. Have had New Yorker subscription for a few years, but for most of 2025 unable to consistently use it because of technical issues with the app. It would constantly log out and I’d have to (attempt) sign in nearly every time I opened the app. The problem is, the sign in takes you to a Conde Nast login page on a browser window within the app itself. You likely get a 1 in 10 chance you can actually log in (after it requires you to go to your email to get the login code even though you so not use 2FA, And if you’re lucky enough to actually log in, the app may never load anything. It went on for months. My main tool for troubleshooting this was to delete the app, restart my device, and re-install the app. Happened on both iPad and iPhone on both iOS 18 and iOS 26. And as far as managing my subscription, I was not able to view or access my account on either iOS app not on a Mac desktop using the Safari browser. Only Firefox worked. That was the last straw. And I cancelled. I made sure to capture a screenshot of that cancellation confirmation (several reviews here about issues with auto renewal).
