Was looking to get a new HDD, instead got bait-and-switched
I was in the market for a WUH721414ALE604 Hard Disk Drive, and when I saw the price was $292.44, I jumped on it, as that's roughly $30 cheaper than everywhere else. Well, I guess New Town Spares didn't much care for me getting a good deal, because several days later I received an email saying that they didn't have any more stock of that, and offered me to purchase a refurbished of the same model for $429.70--OVER $120 more expensive for a refurbished version. Sure enough, I go to their website today, and they have the exact same NEW product still listed as in-stock, except now it is $429.70. Sounds to me like someone forgot to update the pricing on their page in relation to the post-AI overinflated pricing structures, and instead of taking the loss in profits, they decided to screw over their customer. False advertising 100%. Never doing business with them again. Update: Ryan did get back with me that the transaction did not process since the order couldn't be fulfilled, so a refund was not necessary. I'm not going to go down the run-around chasing sub-par options that are overpriced, and have declined to proceed with this transaction. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
