We purchased these motherboards because New Town Spares had the lowest advertised price we found. After we placed the order, they contacted us and told us their U.S. inventory was unavailable and that we would need to pay an additional $914.43 to have the order fulfilled from their overseas inventory. I understand that inventory and pricing mistakes happen, but this is the first time I have had a vendor pass such a substantial post-purchase price increase on to us rather than honor the advertised price. We ultimately agreed to the higher price because it was comparable to what other vendors were charging at that point and we needed the hardware, but the experience significantly reduced my confidence in purchasing from New Town Spares again. The hardware itself arrived as advertised and we are satisfied with the product. My issue is entirely with how the pricing and order fulfillment were handled. After posting this review, New Town Spares emailed me and offered me $250 credit to change this review. I have edited the review to reflect this and taken a star from them for trying to manipulate their reviews.

They’re still actively listing an item I tried to buy with a current price, and an Add to Cart button. So given they already told me they couldn’t fulfill my order because the units were broken, I think reporting the listing as potentially misleading/out-of-stock inventory is reasonable. Plain and simple, I ordered it, first it was "delayed", then they canceled because the available units were "unusable", yet the same SKU is still being advertised for sale. It's fraud, and I can prove every part of it.

Awful, wouldn't recommend, I bought a kit of RAM for $1200~, I contacted support to see when it was going to be shipped and they said they have changed the product to out of stock and wanted me to pay another $1400 for it.

They are a bait and switch company. Got the email below 24 hours later after placing the order for $89.10. Good evening Ben, Thanks for bearing with us! However, because this unit is from a newer batch, there's a price difference of $280.75, bringing the new total to $369.85, which exceeds what I'm able to absorb internally. Let me know if you're happy to move forward with this upgrade. If you're on board, I'll shoot over a secure Stripe link for the difference and get your module shipped out immediately. Absolutely horrible. Sent 3 emails trying to upsell and when i wouldn't cancelled my order. Will NEVER do business with again!

If I could give zero stars, I would. This company is running a complete scam operation when it comes to selling IT hardware parts. Here is what happened: The Bait-and-Switch: I ordered a specific enterprise-grade server CPU and matching RAM modules listed as brand new and in-stock on their website. Days later, instead of what I paid for, they shipped heavily used, inferior, and lower-tier parts that didn’t even match the specifications of my order. The Runaround: When I contacted customer support to report the bait-and-switch, I was met with scripted, unhelpful responses and endless delays. They tried to claim it was a "fulfillment substitution," which is completely unacceptable for mission-critical IT hardware. The Missing Refund: I returned the incorrect parts immediately via their specified return process (at my own shipping expense, mind you). They received the hardware weeks ago, and I still have not received my refund. Every time I reach out, they make empty promises or ignore my emails entirely. Warning to fellow IT professionals and buyers: Stay far away from this business. They will take your money, send you junk or substitute parts you didn't order, and hold your funds hostage. I am currently disputing the charges through my bank and filing complaints with consumer protection agencies. Do not risk your money or your projects with this company!
