www.newark.comReviews of newark.com

Ordered parts that came to just over a dollar. All throughout the checkout the shipping and tax said $0. I received the confirmation email and was charged $20 for shipping and the purchase was flagged as special order, non-cancellable and non-refundable. Won't be ordering from them ever again.

Product takes too long to receive. I work on the west coast and anything I order takes at least a week to 10 days to get to me. Really slows down my projects.

I have bought several times with newark. They never respond an email, they never sent me a confirmation that the payment were recived (I paid using an option available for my to make a deposit in a bank account). They send invoices from others that work in the same workplace, I have called them telling stop doing that but they never attend my request, so until now I recived them. They never follows order which have been hold for any reason. The website works for me, and they ships relatively fast and in 7 days I usually recive the products. The representative that attend the place in which I work has been rude and never respond emails. It seems that she is doing us a favor sending quotations. One time I had a hurry to make a purchase and I explained that by email and by phone and she refuse to send a quotation fast (she sent the quotation 5 days later), the result of this expirience was I couldn't make the purchase (Lost-lost expirience).

Their website doesn't even work properly. I tried to setup my order and setup a different shipping address from my billing address and it kept trying to set them both to the same address. Their voucher/coupon code system is also messed up. I tried writing them to ask them about the problem but they haven't written back. Got the hint and will stay away from them. Too bad they bought up MCM because their website worked find.

I sent an order which was to be direct shipped to my customer but billed to me. This company, who happened to have the email of my customer on file, sent them my invoice with my pricing. They destroyed any future business with this customer for this type of product and have undermined any trust that I and my company may have had for them.

I tried very hard to give Newark a fair shot at my prototyping & design parts orders. The first went reasonably well, but the second was executed with all the rapidity of a sloth and the customer care of a garden snake. When placing the order from the web, I made sure that the parts and quantities I ordered were indicated as "in stock" - I pulled the trigger and waited ... and waited ... and waited. Finally, after 6 days I went to Mouser - had what I needed, shipped that afternoon and in my hands the next day. I emailed Newark's customer support and asked politely - since I'd not seen any movement on my order now for 7 days, could they just cancel it. The email sat in their inbox most of the day Friday - over the weekend - then most of the day on Monday before receiving a very curt and unapologetic response to the effect that it was too late to cancel the order because now it was "in process". A couple hours later I got an email indicating my order had shipped. In the end, I'm not going to make a big fuss with them, I'm just gonna tell others and won't consider Newark as a parts source unless I simply can't find it from ANY other supplier.

We are continually billed for thing we don't order. Our salesperson, (R.G.) is very rude, and makes it very clear, by stating that he only deals with sales. I guess once a sale is made, he could care less, and he is sarcastic and rude when Newark makes errors that we, his customers, have to call repeatedly to correct. He is "kind enough" to transfer me, but the hold times are pretty long... we have two outstanding invoices they haven't corrected, and we have been trying for months.

I have purchased from Newark for the past 15 years. In the past year the lead-times for product and the customer care have drastically deteriorated. No longer are they my "go to" company. They no longer stock many items that have more than 12 week lead-times from the manufacturer and have now have switched how they do business so you're never talking to the same person so there's no great interest in making sure the customer gets what they need.
