They really are as bad at customer…
They really are as bad at customer (no)service as all the negative reviews indicate. Seriously, if you can get your part from ANY other vendor, you will be doing yourself a favor. Their system screwed up my shipping address and my order went off into space. I tried for 11 days to get anyone at Newark on the phone, email, smoke signal, HF radio, psychic link, tin and and string, ANYTHING. Nada. I finally got someone on the live chat today and they told me to sod off, don't call them, they will call me. You guessed it, within 48 hours. I started this ordeal as soon as the confirmation hit my email and I noticed the undeliverable shipping address. I gave them PLENTY of time to fix the issue BEFORE it shipped. But, someone there would have to be reading email or answering the phone for that to have stopped their error. No chance of that. At this point, it's a write off. You should write off Newark too. UPDATE 4 January 2022: 7 days after my last contact (didn’t they assure me resolution in 48 hours the last time they brushed me off?) I get two calls from their 800 number that sounded for all the world like pocket dials. I could hear people talking in the background, keyboards, call center type sounds, indistict speech. I tried to get the caller’s attention both times, but no one responded to me. At the time, I didn’t realize it was Newark as I was in my car. Then I get back and check email. Oh, we tried to call you this morning but could not get through… Will try again latter… Of course, there is no call back number, or direct phone number to the person that, I’m sure, wasn’t just trying to put a “contact attempt” note in their ticket. So, I redial the 800 number they called from, immediate IVR telling me I can talk to a real live human being right now… for sales. For anything else, send email to the address that actively avoids interacting with you. So, do you think they will contact me “latter today”? Yeah, I don’t think so either. Update: Jan 7th Well, they finally reversed the charges on my card and the money was returned to my account. So, they did follow through on that, eventually. The whole ordeal cost me more in time than the order did. I will not be using Newark for anything again. While I credit them for ultimately returning my money, my project has been delayed while I source the parts I originally needed to continue. Take it for what it is worth, but a vendor like that isn’t dong me any favors. It was, literally, the bare minimum they could have done, and then only after this review and a formal complaint to the Better Business Bureau.
