Navan is a horrible tool. I don't recommend this to anyone. I'm forced to use it because the company I work for has this as its sole travel booking option. Prices are always higher than what's advertised on Google or the actual airline's website. Seats are available on the airline yet not available on Navan. Trying to get refunds are a pain since they usually require us to go through their Finance team who takes forever to respond. Some customer service reps are good while others aren't. The experience is inconsistent and I always have to mentally prepare myself for disappointment when using this service. I hope we get rid of this platform and use something else. Never had issues like this with other travel agencies. I had to pick a date of my experience but this is all year round.

A Travel Manager’s Review: Great Traveler UX. Terrible Back Office.
you’re a small company with straightforward travel needs, Navan’s slick, consumer-style interface may impress you. But if you’re a global Travel & Expense manager, don’t confuse a beautiful traveler experience with a great enterprise platform.
I’ve worked with Navan across booking, policy, cards, expense, administration, reporting and integrations. My experience? The further you get from the traveler and into the back office, the worse it gets.
Policy controls: behind the competition
Navan has policy controls. The problem is the depth, flexibility and precision.
Compared with enterprise competitors such as Egencia and Spotnana, I’ve found Navan frustrating when translating real-world corporate travel requirements into precise, practical policies.
Enterprise travel isn’t simply “find something under the price threshold.” Travel managers need meaningful control over fare benchmarks, nonstop vs. connecting options, travel time, airports, cabin, exceptions and traveler circumstances.
Navan makes policy look easier than it actually is to manage.
The admin experience is awful
The traveler interface is polished.
The administrator experience is poorly organized, unintuitive and unnecessarily frustrating.
Finding settings and managing the program often requires far too much digging.
Beautiful front end. Painful back end.
Reporting is a major weakness
Navan promotes reporting and dashboards, but my experience is that reporting is far less flexible and useful than competing platforms.
Travel Managers need actionable information on compliance, spend, suppliers, savings, exceptions and traveler behavior—not just attractive dashboards.
And then there’s the price
This is where the value proposition really falls apart.
Navan charges both a SaaS/platform fee AND a per-trip fee. In our experience, the combined cost was extremely expensive for what we were actually getting.
When you’re already paying significant subscription fees, adding a transaction fee to every trip makes the economics difficult to justify—particularly when the back-office capabilities aren’t delivering the level of policy control, reporting and administration you’d expect at that price.
You’re paying a premium for the pretty interface while still doing too much work behind the scenes.
India + NetSuite: where the promise meets reality
Navan advertises NetSuite integration and transaction syncing.
In our environment, transactions made using a Navan virtual bank card in India did not sync to NetSuite as expected.
That’s not a minor inconvenience. Failed transaction flows create manual reconciliation work for Finance—the exact problem an integrated T&E platform is supposed to eliminate.
Test your actual entity, card and ERP workflow before signing.
The bottom line
Navan is excellent at selling the traveler experience.
It’s slick. It’s modern. It’s easy to use.
But once you’re responsible for policy, administration, reporting, cards, ERP integrations and global Finance, the shine wears off quickly.
If you’re a small company with simple requirements, Navan may be perfectly adequate.
If you’re running a serious global T&E program, do the math and do the back-office demo—not just the traveler demo.
Put Navan head-to-head with Egencia and Spotnana using your actual policies, reporting requirements, international entities, cards and ERP workflows.
The traveler gets the pretty interface.
The company gets the bill.
The Travel Manager gets the headaches.
For us, the price simply wasn’t justified by the product.

Unnecessary, useless, expensive
This company is a middleman that adds no value other than pitching corporate T&E departments on spending caps and making their lives easier. The employee experience is awful. Their expense platform is abysmal. Their travel booking experience is equally bad, yet they still insist on attaching fees to every transaction and steering you towards the hotels where they get paid kickbacks. Avoid at all costs. Just give your people corporate credit cards.

Absolutely horrible
Absolutely horrible. Due to a Navan bug the plane ticket booked had incorrect contact information.
I called more than 24hrs before they flight to have the issues corrected, they lied and said it was handled and if I went to the front counter its would be fine, and that they had a note left.
I'm here and there is no note, no record Navan even called the airline, and the ticket was rejected. The booking process was terrible, customer service was horrible, and this cost my company a lot of money.
I would highly advise anyone to never use Navan for any reason whatsoever.

Navan didn't help
Navan didn't help. Navan held up my ticket and forbidding me to upgrade my flights at the price offered to me by BA. This is absolutely terrible.

What could go wrong went wrong
What could go wrong went wrong. Almost one of the group could not join an international trip. Fortunately I found out just in time…. However Navan put the issue on the customer with a significant increase of price. Unbelievable. Whilst checking in Navan seemed to have issued a ticket for a minor on a separate booking creating other issues during boarding. Curious how the travel back will be…..

I was in multiple contacts with customer service. They claimed to have mailed and called me which was not the case (I checked). Furthermore the responsibility was put on me the customer which disappointed me. I would recommend to improve.
