Unclear and confusing communication
I had such a bizarre experience with Natural Transplants recently. I had two consultations with Dr. Blumenthal (one virtual and one in person) and one follow-up conversation after I decided to pay a deposit for the procedure. In every conversation, I was reassured that our expectations were aligned and that Natural Transplants would be able to give me the results I wanted. Following these conversations, I paid my deposit, scheduled my appointment, made the financial arrangements, and took the necessary time off from work. 10 days before my scheduled procedure, Jerry, the sales representative, called me and told me that after a subsequent conversation with Dr. Blumenthal, they thought that I should hold off on getting the procedure due to "nervousness and anxiousness." He kept repeating this phrase and circling any real answer. I ended up canceling the procedure. Do I think I was nervous and anxious, yes, but not necessarily more so than the average patient who is about to get a permanent procedure? I believe I asked the appropriate questions and felt reassured by the answers Dr. Blumenthal provided. In hindsight, I do think he was just trying to tell me what I wanted to hear and later backtracked and blamed it on me. Additionally, their "HUE" procedure is just a rebranded FUT that they charge a FUE price (I was quoted $10k for a "35cm2 strip containing 6,000 hair follicles"). Do not waste your time with these guys, they are super cagey and not transparent in their communication.
Response from Natural Transplants, Hair Restoration ClinicJan 8, 2024
Ray, We genuinely appreciate your openness in sharing your recent experience, and we apologize for any disappointment it may have caused. At Natural Transplants, we take great pride in displaying honesty and transparency from the initial consultation, to the procedure, and throughout the recovery process, ensuring each patient is comfortable and fully knowledgeable of expectations every step of the way. After multiple conversations and careful consideration, Dr. Blumenthal made the difficult decision not to proceed with the procedure. This decision was based on concerns that expectations would not be fully met, as we are committed to providing the best comprehensive care for each patient. We want to emphasize that Natural Transplants exercises careful discretion when accepting patients. We would rather part ways early, in place of taking money from and proceeding with any individual where there might be a misalignment in the patient/doctor relationship or expectations. This approach ensures the integrity of our ethical care and maintains the highest standards of patient satisfaction. Several of our team members have been in contact with you to hear your concerns and express our reasonings for our decision. We understand that our decision may be disappointing. We sincerely wish you the best, and if there are specific aspects you would like to discuss further or if you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out directly. Best regards, The Natural Transplants Team
