Four of us fished the Jackson River at Meadow Farms on April 29th. As always, the propery is well maintained, with trimmed paths leading to the river. All of us catch several healthy trout, with some very nice hook-ups of large hold-over rainbows. Although the water was somewhat high, we all were able to find water to safely fish.

Some of the small details need addressing like food chopping boards that can be put through the dishwasher to maintain food safety standards. But, overall, the self catering units were immaculate, tastefully decorated and fully equipped. It was a pleasure to get up in a morning. The wider support from the hospitality team was also faultless - not at all pushy, but there when required.

When I stumbled across Natural Retreats at John O'Groats, I was amazed that I had never heard of them before and there are two huge bonuses, not only the fabulous standard of their accommodation. They take dogs so our two pooches are delighted and also, you are not stuck with a Saturday to Saturday let which doesn't fit in well for my husband's holidays! We loved John O'Groats, went to St Austell in Cornwall last year and it was wonderful so we immediately booked up for this year for the Llyn Peninsula and cannot wait. I would recommend Natural Retreats to anyone and, in fact, already have!

We have stayed at numerous Natural Retreat properties: our favorite is Shephard's Cottage and Donald Ross. We also love Feather Ridge (sorry it is no longer available) and Trailview very much. Herdsman and two others we rented were fine; but not at the top of the upscale list as the four I just mentioned. Our experience with Natural Retreats personnel has been stellar. They are all great, helpful and accommodating. Thanks to everyone associated that made our stays memorable.

Helpful and prompt in returning calls re reservations at a favorite getaway for us for over 20 years. Have honored special requests for service when needed and also provided a guide for a hike. The breakfast is good too.

Having stayed at their locations in the Yorkshire Dales (Twice), Trewhiddle - Cornwall and Nefyn Bay in Wales, with a further week in Cornwall pending later this year, I feel well qualified when I say their accommodation is of a consistent and exceptionally high standard. Their staff are friendly, professional and engaging - nothing is too much trouble. The entire process from booking to arrival is conducted with ease and you should be guaranteed a peaceful and relaxing break in total comfort with lodges that are spotlessly clean and well thought out. I highly recommend.
