Coursework was good. Setting up testing was a big pain. Getting started with the test took about 30 minutes of set up after my initial test time. But once started it was fine. Then they took over a week to give me my certification after several phone calls to support to both NASM and the 3rd party tester. Both support lines don’t have anyone who speak good English so good luck understanding what they’re telling you. I even asked to speak with another rep. They weren’t any better. I don’t mind someone from overseas answering the support calls. But clear English should be a requirement. An accent is fine. But they were hardly understandable.

I have been working to complete the NASM CPT-7 Personal Training certification, and I have also enrolled in the Nutrition Coach and Weight Loss Specialist programs. While I have been satisfied with the courses themselves, my experience with the exam process and customer service has been extremely frustrating. When preparing to take my exam, I encountered numerous technical issues and found the website difficult to navigate. Approximately one hour before my scheduled exam, I contacted NASM for assistance. I was transferred through six different extensions before finally reaching the appropriate department. Once I was connected with the proctor, I was ultimately disconnected because it had taken approximately 15 minutes longer than expected to begin the exam. Despite the delay being caused by technical and customer service issues that were completely outside of my control, I was marked as absent and informed that I would have to pay a $50 rescheduling fee. I spent hours on the phone and sent countless emails trying to resolve the issue and explain what had happened. At one point, I was transferred to another extension only to be told that the office had already closed for the day, despite the fact that I had been promptly following the instructions and transfers provided to me by NASM. Eventually, I was able to speak with a reasonable customer service representative who actually listened to my situation and took the time to understand what had happened. I truly appreciated their willingness to listen and work toward a reasonable resolution. My biggest concern is not necessarily the course material itself, but the lack of communication and support when technical issues arise. When a customer has paid for a certification and is prepared to take an important exam, they should be able to rely on NASM's technical and customer service teams to provide clear, timely assistance. Being transferred repeatedly, disconnected from a proctor, marked absent, and then charged a fee for circumstances outside of my control was extremely disappointing. I hope NASM takes this experience seriously and considers improving communication between departments, website navigation, and the process for handling technical issues on exam day. Customers should not have to spend hours fighting a fee that resulted from problems they did not cause.

I have been actively using nasm for years and I now understand at this point the cycle that is necessary for nasm to continue its research and making money. However there must be a more efficient and integrative way or approach to gaining certification rather than just paying you every few years

Like all the NASM content. HATED HATED HATED the exam experience. PSI should be fired, or there should not be an at home exam option. It was awful.

The program could have more interactive learning and live classes. Also, when trying to reach the success coaches the office was closed frequently and not available during times I was studying to reach them. When I finally reached one after weeks of trying they seemed rushed to get off the phone. There was difficulty in even getting calls back if any. What was sold did not match the experience. Ultimately, I studied hard and self teaching was very important.

Definitely the route to go to get proper education on fitness and wellness. HOWEVER, they absolutely rob you for your money. And they REFUSE to give refunds, even when you accidently double ordered something (i'm out 1,200 dollars extra, on top of my original course). So yeah, they are robbers 100%.

I opted for NASM elite package and passed my CPT in 6-7 months where there are 4 courses bundle. This includes Gym internship as well as job guarantee. When someone is an investor they just see the brighter side of it and ignores the grey part. Same things happned with me. I had to take numerous follow-ups and phone calls for an internship program and placement. My calls were ignored and sometimes are not responded at all. This gives a mental setback a feeling of regret that why should a person invest triple or 4-5 times more money on buying a package. Really frustrating.
