My Green Mattress was founded by Tim Masters. Tim is an experienced businessman, master craftsman, and devoted family man. Tim's daughter, Emily, inspired him to expand his offerings to include all natural mattresses. Shortly after Emily was born, it was apparent that she suffered from eczema and allergies. Tim and his wife, Cindy, took Emily to see the best pediatric dermatologists, but also did their own research and found that all-natural products could help alleviate Emily’s symptoms.Tim realized it was time to offer all-natural mattresses to his customers, and rushed to put one in his daughter’s crib. Emily is now sleeping on a twin-size, all-natural mattress handcrafted by her Dad. She is a happy, healthy little girl that loves to play with her three sisters, Rylee, Madelyn, Megan, and with her brother, Kyle.Tim began working as an apprentice at family-owned, Quality Sleep Shop, that was established in 1968. As an apprentice, Tim mastered the art of mattress making. He eventually bought the business, and has expanded it with the addition of the My Green Mattress division to keep up with the ever changing needs of his customers.

I decided on the 7" twin mattress for …
I decided on the 7" twin mattress for my 3 year old. It is very comfortable, not too firm, perfect for our son. It would be perfect for my husband and I in a larger size. It came on time and I had no problems ordering or with the delivery. My only complaint is that it has a very strong odor. I tend to have a very sensitive nose and sometimes that works against me. I can smell the odor on my sons PJs in the morning as well. He has been sleeping on it for about one week and I keep hoping it will fade. Not so far...

Hi, Chelsea. We're so pleased to hear that the Simple Sleep Latex mattress is proving a perfect match for your son! With regard to the odor, the natural latex as with our other natural materials can sometimes carry a natural odor. This should dissipate over time; usually letting it air out the best you can and even letting the sunlight hit it can help to accelerate the process. Please note that the odors are not harmful and should not be cause for concern, however if it's keeping you from being 100% in love with your new mattress over time please let us know so that we can ensure your comfort!

Mattress Review
The my Green Mattress Company provided good service from beginning to end. The xl twin mattress is a little heavier than most xl twin mattress. I think, because of the better quality of materials that goes into the mattress. If, the mattress is a little to firm for you, use a thick mattress pad that will take care of the problem.

I did a lot of research on non-toxic …
I did a lot of research on non-toxic mattress materials before deciding to purchase from My Green Mattress - i.e. type of latex, type of wool, whether or not the wool was sourced from the USA and therefore not sprayed with pesticides at customs). I wanted to make sure I wasn't being "green washed" by false claims. I am very happy with the quality, the price and the comfort of my new Natural Escape mattress for my daughter. She is sleeping better than ever and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one for other family members in the future. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the factory is not solely dedicated to manufacturing non-toxic mattresses, so there is some potential for cross-contamination, but in this case I choose to not let the perfect be the enemy of the good. This is a great non-toxic mattress at price I can afford.

We are a small, family-owned mattress shop in Illinois and have been making mattresses since the 1960s. Although our work shop is not solely dedicated to the green materials, we can assure you that we do have a dedicated portion of our warehouse for My Green Mattress products.
