Bait & Switch by DISH network
On January 15, 2026, I attempted to set a TV and internet account with DISH network in Sun City Arizona. The process was cumbersome and long. I set up the TV account INCLUDING the service address and made it clear to the sale rep that I also want the internet service. I also make it clear that I want the 100 mbs internet for $50/month. After setting the TV account up we went to set up the internet as promised for $50/mo. Low and behold, all of a sudden, no such internet plan for $50/mo. was available. But I was assured that an internet service was available for $120/mo. For those unfamiliar with this sales tactic, it is referred to as BAIT AND SWITCH. This is one of the oldest cons in sales and seldom used today because it is unlawful in all states to do and carries various criminal penalties. This behavior will be reported to the Arizona State Attorney General, Consumer Fraud Division, the CEO of Dish as well as all company ratings sites to which I report.
