Easy registration

When I opened my patient information from my doctor's office today, you know, the electronic file you're allowed to see at your primary physician's office, I found that, not only was my A1C elevated at 5.8, but that 3 months ago it was 5.7, so trending up, labeled on the lab results page as "prediabetic", AND that my doctor had neglected to inform me of it. I was a nurse back when I still worked and, because I have a lot of medical problems, I tend to be very proactive with my healthcare. Seeing that diagnosis, knowing that I have a very limited time to get healthier before it turns to full-blown diabetes, I knew I HAD to do something. I began researching things I can do and ways to change my diet, and stumbled onto the MyDiabetes website. I have just downloaded the app, and have barely begun looking things over, but already it feels like my "Diabetes Specialist" understands my fear about the disease as well as the trepidation I feel about having to change my diet and the way I normally prepare and eat food. It's possibly making me more concerned about my health BECAUSE of my career - I know the dangers of becoming diabetic, because I've seen the worst! This diagnosis is nothing to mess around with, so I need to change things now, before it's too late. Thank you, MyDiabetes, for helping me through the fear and anxiety.
