Review for Consumers Cooperative Car Finance
I am writing this review to express my deep frustration and disappointment with Consumers Cooperative regarding my 2020 Kia. In July, my car started having mechanical issues. The dealership mechanic diagnosed the problem as the knock sensor. Given that there has been a recall on Kia knock sensors, I assumed this issue would be covered under warranty. However, the dealership advised that the repair would cost $2,000. While I escalated the matter with Kia corporate, I continued to make my car payments for July and August, despite not having the car in my possession. In September, still in discussions with Kia, I did not make a payment. To my shock, the car went up for repossession. After speaking with Anita in the collections department, I learned that my car was eligible for repossession due to a past due amount of $0.53 for August. Despite explaining my situation and offering to catch up on the payments, Anita declined to work with me and proceeded with the repossession. To make matters worse, there is an ongoing class action settlement involving certain Kia models with knock sensor issues. This settlement provides compensation and benefits to owners of eligible vehicles, including reimbursement for repairs and an extension of the Powertrain Limited Warranty. Despite this, I was still asked to pay out of pocket for the repairs, adding to my frustration and despair. This experience has been incredibly disheartening. Despite the ongoing mechanical issues and my proactive approach to resolving the matter, Consumers Cooperative showed no flexibility or understanding. I have been without my car for months and feel utterly let down by their lack of cooperation and support. The whole ordeal has left me feeling defeated and helpless.
