Off-hour coverage of customer service is a joke. People working out of their homes with poor knowledge. Someone with "Rewards" (I was transferred to them) said that the credit union didn't participate in rewards any longer. (Check the recording!) These people have access to your customers' sensitive information. I wouldn't trust either of the people I spoke to on Monday with info. Is the job pool really that depleted. I also (on Tuesday) was told that having to direct my rewards EACH AND EVERY STATEMENT was easier than simply depositing the rewards automatically as a credit (or any other choice) once and for all. My "flexibility" (ThankYou!) is just more work for me. You made some very poor choices from a customer's vantage point since the changeover in August.

Got behind on payments, CCUs solution, send money now. Have paid double payments for 3 months and now I only am behind by 1 payment and that will be paid over the next 2 months. In the meantime, they closed my other accounts and cannot get online to even see my account for the car.

I did not like the fact that they did not call me and ask for proof of insurance. I just switched to an insurance company that met my needs. I am a busy person and do not always open all my mail. I did not see their request of proof of insurance and they decided to purchase insurance to protect their financial investment and tried to charge me for it through mail only communication. I opened it just in time and the $2000 charge to my account was canceled, but It could have been avoided all together.

We had a deeply frustrating experience with Consumers Credit Union that left us paying for a mistake that was not ours. We purchased a car and, tragically, it was totaled within 24 hours due to an animal crossing. GEICO deemed the vehicle a total loss, and we promptly provided Consumers Credit Union with all the required documentation confirming this. We were explicitly told by Consumers Credit Union that: the original loan would be closed once GEICO issued payment, and in the meantime, they were fine issuing us a new loan to purchase a replacement vehicle under the same terms, which we did in good faith. Fast forward a month: GEICO has not yet issued the payoff check, Consumers Credit Union did not close or suspend the original loan, we were charged one full month on the old loan, one full month on the new loan, and interest on the old loan, despite the car being declared a total loss and unusable. In short, we were told “everything was fine,” then quietly billed for two loans at once, including interest on a vehicle that no longer exists. This shows a serious lack of coordination, transparency, and customer care during what was already a stressful situation. At the very least, the original loan should have been paused or interest frozen until the insurance payout was resolved. We expected professionalism and fairness. What we got was confusion, financial pressure, and zero accountability.

Thank goodness I only took out a car loan with them. Since that time I've called them twice and was on hold for more than an hour and a half. Once I got through they told me there was a data outage and I would have to call back. Wtf? Waiting on hold for over an hour to talk to a rep? What a disaster of a credit union if you can't have people answering phones.
