i placed an order for 2 music books for my son’s Band Class on Saturday 9/12. It was for pick up in store due to them being in stock at the store. When I went to the store, he told me it was an online order for “ship to store” which wasn’t true. I called customer service and she stated it was pick up in store but I had to wait for store to fulfill and they would call me when ready. Because I made the purchase online, she said the billing team, who does not work weekends, needs to verify payment before they can send the actual order to the store to be fulfilled, The store called me later and ended up only having one book in stock so they had to ship the other one, they said about 3 to 5 business days for shipping I called Saturday 9/19 for an update. It took a few hours to get to a live rep and they could not locate a tracking number. They were supposed to call me on Monday but that never happened. I called today Wednesday 9/23 and they still cannot locate a tracking number for my book. I honestly wish I never went through them to begin with. I will never order anything, I should’ve gone through a Guitar Center or Amazon..

I will not use Music & Arts again. I wanted to try out a few different clarinet mouthpieces. I used Music & Arts because the last online company I used (satisfactorily), BrasswindWoodwind, merged with them. I ordered 5 different mouthpieces to try, understanding M&A's policy of 30 day returns for a full refund (but I pay the return postage). The shipment arrived quickly, but wrong -- two items of one mouthpiece, and was missing the 5th one. And one of the mouthpieces was just in a plastic bag, instead of the sturdy padded boxes they all are supposed to be in. I called customer service immediately and spoke to an English-challenged agent. After several attempts, I thought she understand the problem and the solution: to send me the missing mouthpiece. She also emailed me a return label, even though I told her I still had 4 weeks to return the unwanted ones. Four days later, I got the replacement mouthpiece. Again, it was the wrong one, a duplicate of another they had already sent me. At that point, I gave up trying to get the 5th mouthpiece. So I tried out the 4 models for several days, knowing I had a 30-day period to return the unwanted ones. Fifteen days into the 30-day period , I received an urgent-sounding voice message from M&A, and a Past Due Balance notice in the mail. I called M&A again, and got an agent who spoke clear English but was unpleasant. She impatiently lectured me repeatedly that I was supposed to have returned the first wrong mouthpiece immediately, even though the first agent never said that. Then she told me just to return them all to the nearby store, rather than mailing them back ... but the store she cited is 3 hours from my city, which I had already told her. She didn't know what to do about returning the mouthpieces, and had to hang up and call me back. To her credit, she called back 10 minutes later, and told me I had to return the unwanted mouthpieces in two separate boxes; the first wrong mouthpiece in one box with the earlier shipping label, and the other unwanted mouthpieces in a second box, with the shipping label she would email me. Instead of testing the mouthpieces any further, I kept the one I already knew I wanted, and packed up the others in two boxes and sent them back that same day. Also to the 2nd agent's credit, the label she emailed me was prepaid. I will have to be watching my credit card transactions carefully over the next month, to ensure I get charged and refunded correctly for the 6 mouthpieces. This type trial and return process with customers should be a routine transaction with such a music business. M&A has some significant bugs to work out of their system. Life is too short for such frustration.

Cannot express how unhelpful and rude customer service is over the phone. Return policies and billing practices are not transparent. I would never recommend this business for instrument rentals or anything else requiring ongoing service.

Took over a month to get the instrument to my kid, which they still charged me for, then they did not pick up the instrument all summer, which they also charged me for. Customer service was never helpful. Its a scam, beware!

Music and Arts guaranteed a 2 days delivery. I paid $58.00 for a two days delivery, and I waited for the instrument of Friday 06/26/2026, to our disappointment the instrument arrived Monday 06/29. I callled music and arts and the costumer service said there is nothing he can do about it, because they cannot guarantee a 2 days delivery. But someone guaranteed. Or just wanted the express shipping fee. A promise that was not delivered I asked for a refund of the $58.00. Music and Arts will not refund my money. I will never do business again with this store. This was our third saxophone tenor Yamaha YTS 62III. The two previous instruments bought from Brasswind and Wodwind. Unfortunately it merged with Music and Arts. Extremely rude customer service! I wish I had read the reviews.

In my experience this is a terrible company with horrible customer service. This company, in my opinion, could care less about it's customers. I spoke to a rep who told me three conflicting things, and basically wanted me to just renew a rental vs. paying for the instrument which would save me money. She had no idea what she is talking about and rather than say "I don't know" or pass me to someone who did, she hung up on me. I would suggest finding a local music shop to rent from so that you can have people who know about instruments and care about their costumers assist you. Just look at all the negative reviews across platforms for this company! We all can't be lying!
