I originally bought this server to stop the lag caused by hosting a factorio server myself, however with only being able to use such cheap options with no room for upgrading which caused a substantial amount of lag. Other then lag alone we would find at seemingly random times the entire service would stop working, meaning we would be unable to access the control board of the server or connecting to the server at all.

Hello Brandon,
We are sorry for the experience you have had.
We are working on providing more and more upgrade options for all our games for those who really work hard in their end games so please do keep a look out.
Thanks,

When I signed up
MH426573
Tickets 7388255, 7394166
When I signed up, the site asked me what location I wanted. Los Angeles was closest, so I chose it. The page said, "Oh, woops. That one's full. Pick another." So I chose Seattle. Again, full. So I chose San Jose. Finally. But at least it didn't let me start a server on a crowded location!
I finished sign-up, and waited. Got an email a few minutes later with login info for my shiny, new server. Logged in, and instead of a server, there was a message saying, "This location is full. Gonna need to wait on a hardware upgrade, mate."
No. So I opened a support ticket to have the server moved. I specifically asked for a location that wasn't crowded. A very nice man moved my server to Los Angeles. Yeah, the same Los Angeles that the site wouldn't let me choose due to overcrowding. But the server was up, at least. Fine. I play for a few hours and go to bed.
The next day, the server is down. "Weird." I look at the log, and it had died overnight. It tried to restart itself 3 times, couldn't manage it, and gave up. I started it and after about 10 minutes it appeared in-game. "Well that was awfully slow."
I play some more. After a few hours, the server starts lagging, hard. My ping would run up to about 50,000ms, then drop down to 30, and without missing a beat, run back up to the tens of thousands. I couldn't move my character.
So I checked the Knowledge Base. I used to be a phone tech and a server admin for ISPs and I know better than to be "that guy." I connected to several open servers in search of lag. Nothing. Back to my server. Lag. So it's not me. The knowledge base wanted me to run a sustained traceroute to the server while in-game for at least 20 minutes, and attach the log to a ticket. I gave it an hour, and attached the log to a new ticket.
The reply I got had me awfully confused. I know what a traceroute is, and I can read the log. The service rep said, "You're losing packets on your LAN. You on wifi or summat?" The log showed 61 packets lost out of 6,884 on my LAN. Around 0.8%. Even if you stacked those packets end-to-end such that the connection was dropping all at once, my ping wouldn't hit 50 seconds more than once, let alone repeatedly for several hours straight. On top of that, the rep evidently didn't look at the server. He didn't see the logs that showed it dying the night before, and he didn't see that the server resource monitor had giant gaps in it, where the server was presumably so choked that it couldn't keep track of its own CPU/memory usage. No...his whole response was, "Are you on wifi?"
So I replied to the ticket. Still not wanting to be "that guy" I sidestepped reminding the rep that 0.8% packet loss isn't noticeable and instead mentioned that a) a friend of mine from another state was on the server experiencing the same problem at the same time and b) the server wasn't even keeping track of itself, let alone the connection of anyone logged in.
He asked me if I wanted to move the server. I said, "Yes, San Jose." It was late at night and I went to bed.
The next day, I looked and he had said it would be done. It had been about 7 hours at this point. I open the server admin page, the server is down, and the most recent log entry says, from San Jose, "Failed to create server."
So I replied to the ticket again. "Hellooo...dead in the water, here." A third nice man said, "Oh, just give it an hour. It's still moving." No addressing of the error in the log, or the fact that I could have driven from Phoenix to LA and been half way to San Jose with my server on a thumb drive by this point. So I waited 3 hours (by which time I would have been IN San Jose). Nothing.
So I replied to the ticket again. "What gives this time?" "Oh, okay, I pressed the button that stops it from being broken now. I didn't press it before telling you to wait an hour, because reasons. But I started it now. All good???" I look. It's still in LA. On the same machine. I log in, same lag. But hey, at least the server is charting its resource usage again. I guess I can watch that instead of gaming.
No, I'm done. Keep the $8. A year ago, I played on a MultiPlay server someone else had opened and saw no problems. Something has changed. Nice enough people, but my god...look at the server before suggesting "WIFI THO?" or asking someone to wait for nothing to happen, only to then put the whole process back to square one.

Hello Ben,
Thank you for your review. I am extremely sorry that you had such issues with your server.
I am curious as to why this has happened, and would like to work with you to get this fixed. If you could send me an email [email protected], I would be more than happy to talk through this and get and understanding of what happened here.
Thanks

Server constantly goes down
Server constantly goes down. Says it's up in the dashboard, but unseeable by ark. It will not go 24 hrs without going down. No Update feature from dashboard, so they do it automatically and the server gets stuck and have to submit tickets. Just all around pretty crappy. You get what you pay for here folks. Spend another $5-$10 and go with another host. Btw the dashboard is crap. They don't tell you that if you use their pre-made stuff and then you actually edit the game ini that it doesn't overlap, it wipes everything and you gotta go back and re-do it all. Just use another company it's so poorly set up that if you don't REALLY know what you're doing, you'll end up having a completely frustrating time.

Twice I have lost my old IP and been assigned a new on my teamspeak server. Honestly that is unacceptable to me. Next time it happens I will have to switch service.
Response from Multiplay GameserversSep 28, 2017
Hello,
I apologise that you feel this way, but I'm afraid that the IP changes you have experienced are a necessity. The only reason a voice comms IP will change, unless you request it, is if we are doing hardware upgrades. These upgrades are essential in order to allow our customers better uptime, bigger servers and overall a better service. We aren't going to stop doing these upgrades, as that would mean that our voice comms servers have no future. I understand that an IP change is frustrating and in an ideal world we would be able to purchase new machines and keep the IPs, but that simply isn't the case.
If you want to switch service due to this, I completely understand, but I can assure you that these changes aren't just because we want to upset our customers, rather we want to give our customers the best hardware and service that money can buy.
If you wish to discuss this in more detail, please feel free to send in a support ticket, which I will personally respond too.
Thank you,
Mike Assis

Honestly
Honestly, the customer service is the only reason why they have two stars, tried to play a factorio map but ran into countless problems, some of which the customer had to resolve himself because the customer service were too slow.

Use a different company.
I have been renting servers with these guys for a few years now. I have had continual issues with them not updating the servers in a timely fashion. I have spoke to them on multiple occasions about this. The last person I spoke to basically told me that they test the updates before they release them and that they were not going to change how they do things (I have it all in writing). I argued that they should be able to accomplish this in a timely fashion. This morning I was checking my Rust server to see player activity. The server has been empty since the update yesterday and the server still has not been updated yet a day later at the time of writing this. So I have likely lost the little player base I was developing because the server is again not accessible. I go through this every week. I also had this issue with a Factorio server I was renting from them. Oh and did I mention the Rust server I opted for cost me almost 100$ Canadian because I got double memory ect, and yet they still are providing me sub par service despite the price. I was not going to bother writing a review until I noticed they had the nerve to do this to me again.
*Poor problem solving and public relations
*Unreliable server hosting
*Constant server babysitting by the customer
*Very high price for poor service
So now I will be using a different company and as a result they have lost a long time customer. If you are serious about renting a quality server I recommend you look elsewhere.
Update: They still have not updated server.
Update: Machine 'tor31' doesn't have 'Rust Experimental' installed (modid: 17695)
^Another coincidence? I think not.
Response from Multiplay GameserversJul 30, 2017
Hello Adam,
I personally dealt with your tickets and I can only apologise if my answers were not too your liking.
As I mentioned in the ticket, we have to test rust and it's updates on our system before we can roll them out across our server farm. Depending on the type of update, and what is potentially wrong with it, our roll out time can be a bit longer than normal.
The vast majority of our updates are fully tested and rolled out well within an hour of them going live.
The reason there is a delay is due to our system not processing updates on a per server basis. The way our system works is that we update a central server, test that it works, then basically copy and paste the working files to the 100s of machines running rust that we host around the globe. Doing it this way means we can update everyone's servers a lot quicker than if we did them individually.
Updating this way also ensures that the vast majority of our customers have working servers. If we had a system in place which meant that customer's servers were updated individually, it could mean that we would have a lot more customers experiencing problems and then in turn waiting even long for our support team in order to fix their server.
I understand that not having your server live as soon as the update goes live is frustrating, but the way we do it on our system is necessary. I can only apologise that we are unable to offer the service you require.
