I initially sought out Motivate MD for some feedback regarding my personal statement for my application. I found the feedback that I received to be incredibly useful not just in a grammatical context but also in the tone and message I wanted to send from my statement. Later on, I decided to also use the service to practice my interviews and once again found the service to be incredibly helpful. In particular, I found the strategies and tips provided to me by my mock interviewer appropriately geared me for my interview day. Overall I found my experience with Motivate MD was insightful and would recommend this to anyone who needs feedback regarding their personal statement and/or is looking for a mock interview. Thank you Dr. Anuj Patel for the feedback regarding my personal statement, and thank you Emma for the strategies and tips you provided to help me with my interview.

After writing multiple drafts of my personal statement and having peers and professors review it, I decided to submit it to a professional editing service to get some tips before my application was due. Starting with the positives: The turn around time was very quick and I received some small tips on how to improve the flow of my essay with notes from the editor. However: My editor spent a lot of the space telling me how bad my essay was and ultimately gave my intro a 1/10 and the personal statement as a whole a 4/10. They then offered to help me rewrite it if I purchase more sessions and spend a few hundred dollars with them. Not having the time or money to do this, I used their corrections and kept my essay the same. In the end, I only applied to MD schools and I ended up receiving 1 waitlist and 2 acceptances to some of my top choice schools. All this to say, I received SOME helpful feedback but ultimately just caused me a lot of unnecessary anxiety and seemed like they only wanted more money. I would not recommend or use this service again.

Hey Easton! Thank you for taking the time to express your feedback. First of all, congratulations on your acceptances! In terms of your feedback for Ehab who sat on Georgetown University School of Medicine's admissions committee, I'm sorry to hear that this was your experience. Ehab and the rest of our team always want to set up our applicants for success within a cycle as much as possible. We never want to tell someone their essay is great if there is still room for improvement. We know you buy our services for a reason so our team will always be highly critical to hopefully benefit you in the end with increased interview invites and acceptances. Our intentions are never to just want more money out of people. All we want to do is help you reach your ultimate goal of becoming a doctor. Ehab and I wish you would have expressed these feelings when I originally sent you Ehab's thoughts. We would have helped you to not feel unnecessary anxiety with a full refund and a chance to speak with Ehab for free regarding his review. I have issued you a full refund for the one review you bought. Again, our sincerest apologies you walked away from our services feeling this way. Becca 917-994-0765 [email protected]

I had a few secondaries get reviewed by Victoria. And she was so wonderful. I really enjoyed communicating with her, as our values were so similar. She understood what exactly I wish to accomplish as a physician in the future, and shared many extremely valuable ideas with me. As a result, I have received several interviews during this cycle. I also had two interview prep sessions (both MMI and traditional) with Sam. Her comments were so insightful and she helped me feel much more prepared. I could make my responses much more concise and powerful. She made me feel more comfortable about sharing my personal stories.

Thank you so much for working with me in fine tuning my professional statement! I really appreciate how you took into account what i was trying to convey and even made adjustments three and four times to get it just right! You guys are the best!

Feedback is very mediocre and not detailed for the what it's worth - worse than a free personal statement feedback I'm also using. I will not be using this again after my last personal statement edit. The price was not worth it. Will not be recommending this to others.

Thank you for providing your feedback. We just sent you an email stating that we will provide you with a full refund since you weren’t satisfied with our services. The team never wants anyone to walk away from our services feeling the way you feel. We were in communication to try to find a solution for you so that you could get the help that you were looking for but unfortunately I didn’t hear back from you. The editor had mentioned the organizational backbone of the essay required drastic revision so we proposed a brainstorming session to help accomplish that. The editor can then carry out a full in-depth review once an essay has the needed structure. The best way to effectively guide someone in creating an essay’s structure is via a brainstorming session. I believe this would have been valuable and helpful in rectifying this situation. Please let me know if you’d like to have this brainstorming session, we can do it free of charge. We wish you the best of luck on your journey to becoming a doctor. Becca 917-994-0765 [email protected]

I used the personal statement services when I felt so stuck and was running out of time. Immediately after editing with the team, I felt confident about my application. I have been accepted to six schools so far! Thank you so much! I highly recommend Motivate MD.
