I had a truly enjoyable time at the Mosaic Art Studio in Manhattan this past weekend. It was a large, open space with an inviting atmosphere and calming vibes. The staff was friendly as well as patient and caring towards those of us with "ZERO" artistic abilities. The "Mini Moon" lamp (my personal choice ☺️), as well as the other lamps and crafts that adorn the studio space, are gorgeous!! My only negative, or suggestion, would be to devise some way to be able to have the design templates stenciled or transferred onto the glass globes. My freehanded attempts to copy the pattern onto the glass were a complete mess. I left with an unfinished globe because I fell behind and the class was ending. My tiles kept falling off and I barely did any beading, so I've yet to finish my project and left feeling like a total failure. But I would definitely attempt this class again and highly recommend it. Seeing others finished products was inspiring!

The staff was very friendly and polite. This is the second time I’ve made a lamp with them, and this class was smaller. I think the smaller class was better for the staff, they were much more organized and things were overall less chaotic than my first experience. I would like it better if it was run more as a class, with instructions and demos given to everyone at the same time, rather than table by table. This is why I drop a star, since it’s not structured like a class with clear instruction times and work times, if you’re ready for the next step, it’s confusing whether you should wait or call the instructors over for the next steps. I think a little more structure would help enhance the experience. Overall I had a great time and really enjoyed this experience and would definitely do another.

I came to the studio as a “do over” offered because the at home kit did not work out well for us. They were kind enough to offer an in-studio class for free. It was a very nice experience, they had plenty of colors & options. I only took off 1 star because I would’ve liked a bit more guidance and instruction while making the globes. They came out much better than when we did it at home. It’s a fun and creative outing!

The instructor was very good; knowledgeable and very upbeat. However it was too big a class for ONE Instructor. Too much running around and he could not help all those that had questions. Staffing was the only downside. The instructor was fabulous! It was a lot of fun! Going to go again!

The class was fun. The instructor was good. The class needs to be longer.

It was fine. The length of time it took to arrive was a bit long. I have not had the chance to try the kit.

This was such a fun class! The lamp(s) that I ordered were ready to go at the class. My biggest complaint is that I didn’t feel like we got very good direction from our instructor. I think the lamps need to have a border in which the beads should be filled up to. One of our three lamps has a significant and uneven gap at the top. I was also worried that I was putting too much glue on and that it would prevent the grout from going down in between the mosaic tiles. The instructor assured me that it was okay, but it indeed was not and there are places that needed grout but there was no room due to excess glue. Overall I would recommend this class, though. I think it’s a great price for a beautiful lamp, even despite imperfections!
