I run Tutu Marketing, an advertising agency, and managed paid ads for Morty over the past several months. This review covers my own experience only and shared publicly in hopes someone can help us get us paid for what is owed. We have yet to be paid for two months of work, August and September. This comes after earlier months were also paid late. I've sent multiple messages and emails to the founder, Nora, about payment and haven't received a response recently, and I have records of all of it. Several times I sent one message covering both a payment follow-up and a work update. She'll reply to the work questions but not to the payment question. Again I have screenshots of this should I need to show. This month I also came across a Reddit post in titled "Loan Officers claiming Morty not paying commissions." I can't verify it and I'm only speaking to my own situation, but given my experience I find it extremely concerning. If you're considering working with this company in any capacity, do your due diligence. If this gets resolved, I'll update this review. Until then, I'm doing what I'd want someone to do for me: sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision.

Big waste of time dealing with Terrance Wilson. Lots of talk and nothing behind it. Never again

Worst mortgage experience I ever had. My mortgage office was Paige and she was horrible at communication and really hard to get hold of. Problems started when the condo we were buying needed flood insurance, as a mortgage broker I was expecting Morty to guide the condo association through the process and tell them what was needed to satisfy the lender requirement. Instead of all this, she made the process more difficult by miscommunication and me and my agent had to call the lender directly and the condo insurance company to get this resolved. Towards the end, we got a copy of the final disclosure along with the NY rate lock agreement with lock ending on 11/18 whereas according to the initial NY rate lock our lock was till 11/26. when I inquired Paige told me it was because of some title document and Lender lawyers were in touch with our attorney to resolve this. I emailed all the parties involved to ask what was this document missing and it turned out the title company had already sent the document to the lender's lawyer and Paige was not aware of it. This is another example of how incompetent they are. On the final day of closing as well, their lawyers delayed the money transfer and almost derailed the closing. I will never use them again and will never advise any other to use them

Morty showed us great rates. Everything was going well until the last day of the mortgage contingency when suddenly, they need tons of new paperwork from me. I feel that I am consistently having to repeat myself in emails and currently, we might not be closing on time. I'm hoping they can get everything together in the next few hours. I will update my review if the situation improves.

Total failure. Began loan process six weeks out, delivered everything they asked for the day they asked for it. A week from closing I find out that the lender "needs to approve" our closing attorney. No idea what that entails or why it didn't start a month ago, but fine. Not fine. I'm supposed to be closing today, and they can't even tell me when I MIGHT be able to close. Just blamestorming and buck passing. I usually never deal with brokers/resellers/middlemen if I can help it; I made an exception here to get a good rate, and now I'm paying the price.

We were shopping for rates as we offered for one home. Morty showed a promising rate and hence we booked a call with Derek Gussaroff. We were waiting to discuss this with Derek Gussaroff. When he called felt like a non-enthusiastic person. The call was the shortest call with any lender. Took 5 min for 30min call. Answered yes or no for most questions. Felt he was least interested in talking to us. I get we dont have an accepted offer but with someone who has a 790 score and 10% down payment, we can be a good potential customer. We expected some enthusiasm to win us as a customer. I would never choose Morty for my loan. Probably a waste of my time. One word to describe the experience was unreliable.

Horrible experience! They caused delays in closing due to which we ended up paying significant fines to the seller. Could not get their reps on the phone and had to mail/ping everyday to ask about their progress. Would never work with them again.

Our mortgage was not approved until the day before closing. Requests for financial information were provided promptly by us, followed by additional requests upon additional requests all of which could have been provided up front, IMO. The location of your loan officers on the west coast resulted in a shortened window from my east coast location that exacerbated the delays with an added day in between. Your online system worked OK and people seem knowledgeable but seemed to readily accept delays and numerous, sometimes redundant, requests for information all of which resulted in a poor experience by us who should be your highest priority, your customer. No sense of urgency to meet our needs and apologists for the shortcomings of Morty inner workings. Our title agent expressed similar poor experience too.
