I am happy other people had a good experience with Moon Nurseries, mine has been terrible. I went to the nursery to purchase some trees and was taken around by golf cart and made my purchase. Paid the crazy delivery and planting fee (no it is not free unless you buy HUGE trees). Was hoping I would get great nursery stock for the price, and just as great customer service. The trees arrived and were planted, and within minutes of the truck leaving I looked at my magnolia and it was COVERED in scale and white fly. I immediately called, was told that it should never have been planted and they would give me a spray to treat it. Eventually, they agreed to replace it along with my tangelo tree that had leaf miners. I had to wait a month with diseased trees until they were replaced. They did drop off a spray for me to use, it had no effect. The second magnolia tree they dropped off had the same issue, but they told me it had been sprayed and the new growth would be fine. Not so. Now that are telling me to get up into my tree and wipe off the scale and flies. Seriously? I have since spoken to several other nursery workers at other facilities, and apparently the nursery is known in the industry to have shady business practices. I wish I would have known this before I spent thousands of my hard earned money. I also called their corporate offices and left a message and sent a detailed email of my experience. Crickets. Very disappointing experience. Buyer beware.

One star is generous. I do not recommend Moon Valley Nursery. Our experience was disappointing from start to finish. Communication and follow-up were severely lacking. After the sale was completed, there was virtually no response from the salesperson, and even attempts to escalate concerns to management did not result in meaningful follow-up. The billing practices were also concerning, as charges and expectations were not clearly communicated. In addition, the job site was left in poor condition, requiring us to spend additional time addressing cleanup issues that should have been handled by the company. Perhaps most disappointing is that the finished product does not resemble the photos and representations we were shown during the sales process. What was promised and what was delivered are significantly different. Customer service should not end once payment is collected. The lack of accountability, poor communication, inadequate cleanup, and unsatisfactory final result have left us extremely dissatisfied. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Moon Valley Nursery. I

I hired Moon Valley Nurseries (Roseville location) for a landscaping project totaling approximately $13,000. The installation quality was not up to standard and was acknowledged by management during a same-day site visit. Despite that acknowledgment, no resolution followed. Since that time, I have made repeated attempts to escalate this matter and obtain a management-level response, including multiple written requests. Those escalation attempts have not been acknowledged in writing. Store-level management has not provided a path to resolution, and corporate-level outreach has, to date, not resulted in a response. A new installation date and material changes were proposed with less than 24 hours’ notice, which I declined in writing. That decision was based on the continued lack of clear communication, absence of a defined resolution process, and failure to respond to escalation requests. There are also outstanding concerns regarding discrepancies between the materials billed and what was provided, which have not been addressed. At this point, I have initiated a formal dispute and am seeking resolution through that process. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend ensuring there is a clearly defined escalation path and written communication expectations in place before proceeding with any project.

BUYER BE WARE I spent an insane amount of money for 10 trees to be planted, giant arborvitae, they wanted 200.00 per tree to "take care of them" 5 out of the 10 died, i did not pay to have them come take care of them so they will not replace the dead trees. Even Lowes and Home Depot will replace a tree withing one year. Really took me, my fault but just know they DO NOT stand behind their plants. Read the fine print or get it in writing.

We visited Moon Valley Nursery on 4/4/25 to discuss the purchase of bushes and trees. The cost of 13 Waxed Privots and two fruit trees came to nearly $20,000.00. My husband and I told our salesperson that we needed to think on it and discuss it further as it was a lot of money. At that point, our salesperson called in her manager to talk with us. During our conversation with the salesperson and manager, the manager said he would give us the MVP Pro Care. We said, we need to discuss it further and we would call our salesperson later on that same day. We called our salesperson back later that day and told her we would go ahead with the purchase. I reminded her about her manager saying he would give us the MVP Pro Care and she said that she remembers him telling us that. We completed the transaction over the phone with a credit card. The next day, we stopped by Moon Valley to get our receipt. The receipt stated that we declined the MVP Pro Care. We brought this error to our salesperson's attention and she said she would correct it. To make a long story short, they never corrected it, the salesperson and the manager both denied it was ever said and told us they couldn't print off a receipt for some reason. We visited Moon Valley at least 5 times to get this worked out but they continued to lie and deny. I wish I had read more reviews before I decided to do business with Moon Valley as they have many negative reviews. Some along the lines of what they did to us. Suffice it to say, we will not be purchasing so much as a ground covering from Moon Valley. The owner of Moon Valley should be doing some housekeeping in getting rid of the people who lie to their customers. Beware!!!!

Beware of Moon Valley Nurseries. The first thing I didn't like was a requirement to pay 100% up front. If I was hiring a contractor for work on my home I would expect no more than 50% down with the rest paid on completion. Also our salesman, Blake told us repeatedly that if things didn't work out with our HOA we could cancel the sale. Only later did we find out that even though they had done no work as of the time we canceled, we still had to pay a 15% cancellation fee. Yes, It was in the contract but I would expect this kind of language from a used-car salesman, not a nursery. So read your contract. There may be other surprises in there-+

It's not that MVN did anything necessarily wrong, but we spent a lot of money ($40K+ - we were idiots) for what ended up being a poor design and many trees that did not survive. (Plus AFTER they installed the trees they said we needed irrigation and frequent watering including for trees that were several football fields away - we would have like to know that before. The irrigation was also an expensive bust.) We used the insurance they offered and that helped, but when the replanted trees died, their "hands were tied by corporate" and couldn't help further. For mere pine trees, no less, how much could that cost to fix! Anyway, my suggestion is to look elsewhere. This was a most unsatisfying experience.

We had two designers come to our house and then day after we went to meet with them at the nursery. They put together this crazy dollar amount quote and then refused to print it for our review. Then 10 minutes later, they couldn't find the quote and said it was accidentally deleted! They are running a scam, no transparency...and awful customer service! Don't waste your time and go to a reputable nursery instead. We went to another nursery and for the same plants, it was 1/3 the price!! Go figure..
