I have never even given a review before…
I have never even given a review before so this is new to me. I made a very bad mistake by driving my vehicle after drinking. I totally except responsibility for my bad judgement. With this said I have had to call in on several occasions due to small infractions. I do understand that many callers are rude to the people in the call center, however with that said I don't think that it is fair that people answering the phone to act like that you are automatically some sort of bad person. The truth is that they are sometimes rude and disrespectful. I'm sure that it can be a trying job.
I have had my interlock since September 2019 and have had to have it switched out at least 4 times or more. My service Technician, Alton Bryant in High Point NC has always been more than helpful with any issues that I have had. I know that as a business man with multiple employees I would rather know about my employees being rude or condescending. I think that in the end Monitech is a customer service company and should teach there employees to be respectful of all customers. Also these employees should fully let a customer know their options rather than just collecting money. I recently called in with a code 4043 and was told that i could either pay $45 or go to see a technician. After considering that it would be easier to pay the person I paid and then he informed me that I would still have to go in to a service center. It is completely unfair to be mislead just to collect the money for Monitech I'm not sure if other interlock companies adhere to the same rules but at this point I could not refer anyone to Monitech

The DMV in NC requires an official letterhead for an appointment to get an installation before they will register your vehicle. I didn't know this. I was sent an email without one. It was rejected by DMV, had to cancel appointment, get more time off work, go through it all again. Was told an official letterhead couldn't be emailed by the associate on your 1 800 #, I would have to wait on snail mail. In 45min I had the proper documentation. Please train according to State regulations.

worst system ever
My door locks ain’t working right. My preheater for my Diesel ain’t working right. I’ve drove the truck a total of 3 hrs with 2 violations and haven’t drank a drop!!! Your device is nothing but a money ring. I am already paying for my consequences of my actions and you are adding to it to fill your pockets. Thanks but no thanks

Hard to get the person who is…
Hard to get the person who is knowledgable. Background noise in there makes it hard to hear like they are answering the phone from their home and not an office.

Sick of it
Sick of it, period. To me, it's like Monitech is a money scheme. They do give you a list of what to eat and drink. Yet, no one tells you you cannot have an energy drink or cold WATER. Then, it's like the customer service pick and choose when a customer should pay the $45 fee. I pay my bi-monthly charges as scheduled. These $45 fees are ridiculous. For example: had a Monster energy drink on my way to work. FAILED my 3 minute running test with the code 4030. Had to pay $45. I had even got a WARNING from eating Sunway on my lunch break. Really? So the vinegar and oil caused that I guess. Yes, I smoke Black-N-Milds. On my way from Fayetteville to Durham. I FAILED a 3 minute test because apparently putting the cigar down and waiting until the 1 minute warning was not long enough. I had to pay $45. Now, just last week... 8/10/19. I drank cold water before I blew. It gave me an invalid reading. So, I waited until the 1 minute warning. Invalid reading again!!! So, I missed the blow in time. I explained what happen to the customer service lady and she gave me the override code FREE of charge. Now, just late ast night, approximately 1:15am 8/18/19. I locked my keys in my truck while it was running. Immediately called Monitech before the 3 minute warning. Let her hear the people and myself trying to get in to my truck. I missed the blow and had to pay $45 for an EMERGENCY situation. Why? Honestly, I have been given free codes before because Monitech knew of the issues I was having with their device: it was too hot, too cold, loose wiring, and device was just being faulty before changing it out. Yet, several times I had to pay $45 for the same codes. I even had to pay $45 after passing initial test and stopped to get gas. Because I was listening to music with my door open. The operator claimed is was gas fumes that probably gave the failed reading. Several times! Had me waiting at the gas station for 45 minutes. Really? After starting from initial test I have to wait 45 minutes from pumping gas!? NONE of these issues are given until they happen. I'm sure I'm not the only one. So why aren't these things mentioned? All these FAILED codes and none are alcohol related. I really do feel that NO ONE should have to pay for codes that are not alcohol related. Especially emergency situations. Furthermore, how does an operator chooses who needs to pay for the same codes? Cold water you don't pay but locking your keys in the car, you do. Doesn't make sense.
Truly yours,
Sick of IT

Unfortunately, our devices' settings are dictated by state regulations, so the fail readings on our devices are outside our control. Please note that the ignition interlock device will register any trace of alcohol from any source containing it - this is how the device effectively ensures an impaired individual is not able to start a vehicle, and how we are able to confidently state the ignition interlock is fulfilling its purpose.
Someone will be reaching out shortly to see how we can assist you.

I got my unit put in on July 19th I've had to pay to $45 phones so far for the running mode the 3-minute time it gives me is making me panic I have anxiety and it says I'm not blowing hard enough it put me down an hour away from home the day after I bought it I went to go see my my niece do graduation pictures. Afterwards we went out to eat had no trouble blowing it when I start up but it's the running mode that gets me. I ended up having to call 911 I waited online for help after I pulled off the road and cut the car off it was a hundred and one degrees I was in a spot where there was no houses no nothing just Woods on the road cars for flying. 70 miles an hour I went into a total panic mode after staying on the phone with monitech for 35 minutes on hold I called nine-one-one the police officer Kane I stayed with me until I could get a hold of someone this is not safe at all they need to have more time they need somebody needs to figure something else out sinuses the wait time is ridiculous when you need something immediately when there's a hundred plus degree Heat.
