To Whom It May Concern,
To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Bryce Slayton, and I was recently transitioned from Alcolock to Monitech. Unfortunately, the transition has not gone smoothly. Between limited appointment availability, appointments being rescheduled at the last minute, and extended phone wait times, the experience has been frustrating. That said, I understand Monitech has likely taken on a significant number of new customers, and I can appreciate that some of these challenges may be temporary.
My primary concern, however, is with the functionality of the Monitech device itself. Unlike the Alcolock system, the Monitech device does not provide an audible alert when an arrival test is required. The Alcolock unit would continuously beep upon arrival until the required test was completed, making it very difficult to miss. Additionally, Alcolock did not charge a fee to reset the system if an arrival test was missed.
I own a local landscaping company and oversee multiple crews, which requires me to get in and out of my vehicle dozens of times throughout the day. While I make every effort to comply with all device requirements, I had become accustomed to relying on the audible reminder from my previous device. Since switching to Monitech, I have inadvertently missed several arrival tests simply because there was no notification that one was required. As a result, I have already incurred an additional $105 in reset fees this month alone.
I fully understand that it is ultimately my responsibility to use the device as intended. However, I respectfully request that Monitech consider implementing an audible notification for required arrival tests, similar to the feature offered by Alcolock. This would help prevent unnecessary violations and associated fees for customers who are genuinely attempting to remain compliant.
In the meantime, I would also appreciate any assistance you can offer regarding the reset fees I have already incurred or any recommendations that would help prevent this issue from continuing.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Bryce Slayton

I was camping this weekend with my wife and son. I had a few drinks with supper Saturday night. Last one around 9pm. Went to bed. Drove the truck Sunday morning at 10pm no problem. Samething sunday night but atually 2 less drinks. 12 hours later. It said I failed. Im new to this. Its pissing me off. I do not drink and drive. This morning Monday. Went to roll my windows up as its raining. Turned the ignition on to do so and it read Alcohol Test. Never saw this. Again im a new customer. All i was doing was rolling the damn windows up. Not driving the truck.

Thank you for your feedback. All Ignition Interlock Device settings are determined by state regulations. The device is designed to detect even small traces of alcohol from any source to ensure that an impaired driver cannot start or operate the vehicle. A member of our team will be reaching out to provide assistance and answer any questions you may have.

Absolutely terrible experience
Absolutely terrible experience. The technician did not know how to install the device and could not answer any questions. I will be using intoxilock instead.

I received a violation while my car was…
I received a violation while my car was being repaired at the dealership. The dealership called and got the unlock code and followed normal procedure for working on cars with interlock.I still got charged a 75 dollar violation. You can dispute through email in which they hardly ever respond. The interlock will not beep on arrival blow, Therefore you will up spending a ton of money on arrival blow violation.

We take compliance seriously, which is why every bypass request must meet state requirements. Our team keeps thorough documentation and verifies details with your mechanic so that you remain fully protected under your program. However, all activity still must be recorded, and violations must still be logged, as required by the state.
A Monitech Resolution Manager will be reaching out to walk you through the settings, answer questions, and provide any support you may need.

We appreciate your feedback. While device settings are set by state regulations, our team works hard to train customers, so they feel confident using the interlock. Monitech's Resolution Manager will be reaching out to walk you through the settings, answer questions, and provide any support you may need.

I believe the call center has a lot of improvements to make. 30 minute hold times on a telephone is not professional under any circumstances. They do great once they answer and technician are good. But to me it’s a lot of time wasted.

Installed the 0.0 calibrated interlock with no further information about the lawful 0
Installed the wrong 0.0 calibrated interlock device at time of initial installation instead of the court ordered 0.2 bac calibrated interlock. They did later refund a violation caused my this mishap. So that I respect for making it "right". Always ask for the 0.2 BAC calibration ASAP. Because they will not tell you about the fact there is 2 different calibration installs. You have to find out for yourself. I found out by having to ask off work to go pay for a high alcohol violation where NO alcohol was consumed whatsoever(falsely triggered). So I started asking questions... Unfortunately I had to find out the hard way (I feel I was purposely uninformed). So I pray you read this review and ask for the lawful and CORRECTLY calibrated 0.2 bac interlock device install [look on back of driver's license for "0.2 bac"]
