I have called 6 times today to get override code and after 30 minutes it goes to a voicemail for them to call you back. My machine says violation code is 5038. Violation code 5038 is for a alcohol violation. I haven’t drank any alcohol since machine was installed in August 2018. Have had to pay multiple fees to get overide code for this same code. Also had to have my interlock device changed out in February b/c of faulty device per tech. New device has been installed since February and have had 2 5038 codes that I have had to get overide codes for a week after install. Had device go off 3days in a row this week. Have tried multiple times to get in touch with Monitech to get overide code this week and after holding for close to a hour each time I’ve hung up. My vehicle is in permanent lock out right now and am currently on hold for the 6th time today to get override code. I don’t know who run this place but it’s a joke and can’t wait to get this damn machine out of my vehicle in august.

I have been on the phone, on hold for 1 hr 56 min and 57 seconds. Keep getting fails and warnings, now I get a code 5038 service recall, that I will be charged for, due to your faulty equipment, but it's ok because I can just pay forty five dollars over the phone and they'll reset it. Do you all understand the meaning of a class action lawsuits, against you and the North Carolina department of motor vehicles, for letting you continue to practice in this manner. Some of us on here need to form up, and put you ALL behind the judicial eight ball. STARTING WITH Lifesaver holdings and the North Carolina DMV. I am still able to comply with my judicial demands by going to smart start, ignition interlock.

I have attempted to call this company several times, and have been on hold for over an hour each time. This is non-existent customer service. As a paying customer, we deserve better than these rude people who don't ever answer a call. People have issues that need to be resolved asap, not whenever someone feels like answering a phone call from a customer. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE.

If there was an option to not give a star I would. I’ve been on hold with your customer service line for currently 1:16:35 yes one hour sixteen minutes thirty five seconds and counting.... not sure you can even call this customer service. I understand the number may be unusually busy in the evenings but we have tried to call several times the last few days only to encounter the same issue. As a paying customer I also feel you the service provider should handle calls in a timely manner. I don’t believe holding for more than an hour would be acceptable to you if you were in my shoes. As much money as your company generates from its services you would think you could have a decent customer service department!

I have been with them for months. The tech is amazing but the company is terrible for customer service. People need responses quickly. These devices are detrimental to the arrival and departure for work, childcare, emergencies etc. How can you have a 24hr/7day emergency line that has you hold over an hour consistently? I have reported to the BBB and encourage others to do so also. If you have this device it is to monitor you not control your vehicle use if you are not consuming alcohol. I no longer drink and still have issues with the device. Codes that they try to make you pay for even though they say its a software problem. This is unacceptable.

After posting a complain before about wait times, the service got better. Well, service is terrible again. I've been trying to get a code reset but nobody is answering the phone. I've called many times and I've waited over 30 minutes each time. I even get the voicemail message. Just because we have made a mistake does not mean we should be subjected to this kind of stress. We are calling to pay you a fine. If you don't answer, we can't pay and we get in trouble and charged more. Is this the end game? You want us to get into more legal issues because you are not fulfilling your obligations? Answer the phone. Hire people. Fulfill your job obligations.

Like any government contracted company Monitech is a corrupt, useless, waste of time. I installed Monitech a year and a half after I made the mistake of driving intoxicated. Monitech is worse than jail by far. I got 4 months into the interlock and had driven my car twice because the device does not work in temperatures below 50 degrees and had killed my battery multiple times after mere hours. I then proceeded to have it removed which took 30 seconds after having to pay multiple fees just to reset the device after missing an appointment. I missed the appointment due to the battery being dead in my vehicle. When I got the device removed I was told the original employee embezzled cash from them and I told the new tech that any fees I had I wanted to get over with because I was moving to another state. He "waived" my removal fee due to this behavior by the original employee. Yet, they still are trying to collect 250 dollars from me because they hire temporary firm workers from Ohio to run their call center who don't communicate with the actual techs. They cant explain to me why I owe that much but are threatening to send me to collections. What I have not mentioned is the original tech who installed it was smoking a weed pen WHILE HE INSTALLED IT. This company may seem like a cheap alternative to Smart Start or Intoxalock, but do not fuc**** use it. If they do not waive my fee, I will be hiring an attorney to sue for damages to my vehicle due to them being liable for their stoned employee drilling holes in my car and the 2 batteries I went through. The only competent employee in the entire company is the tech that works in Hickory.

It is very sad that we have companies that operate for nothing but making the dollar. I need my car worked on. Monitech makes it extremely difficult for my trusted mechanic to easily get a code to be able to work on my car. The call hold times are usually extremely long. The office where I have to go and make my payments; there is always a wait even though I have made an appointment. The representative is usually on the telephone, making everyone wait for him. Sometimes up to an hour after the appointment time. Yet I forgot one appointment booked two months in advance and was charged a 35.00 fee. I am extremely disappointed in my government for allowing this type of service and of a company that has no consideration of the people who have and use it's equipment. I made a mistake, almost two years ago. Fortunately it didn't result in any injuries. And I have gladly paid the fines, done the community service for my mistake. As an otherwise hoenst and law abiding person, having to give my money to a company like this? This is corruption. The saddest part is that no one cares...
