This company has the best software but customer service went down and I had a lot of issues with billing after I had left, but really the best software out there

Be aware of processing fees.
I really like the Momence platform, it works well and is easy for me to use, minimal issues from the client side as well. Just be aware that they will tell you all that you have to pay as a business is the subscription fee, but you will actually be charged a lot in processing fees through their processing partner Stripe. I confirmed with the Momence rep before I signed up that there would be no extra fees that would surprise me on a monthly basis.
I am now charged double what I pay for the subscription each month, on Stripe processing fees. Pretty disappointing and crippling for a very small business such as my own.
Stripe is impossible to communicate with and you will only be able to speak with a robot.
I wish the fees were outlined prior to signing up.
Outside of the financials I am happy with the platform as a service.

Hi Nicky,
Thank you for your honest feedback — and for sharing both the positive and challenging parts of your experience.
Stripe’s fees are standard card processing charges (typically a percentage plus a small fixed fee per transaction), and for full transparency we've listed our fees by country on our website at momence.com.
That said, it’s important that this distinction is clearly communicated upfront so there are no surprises. I’m sorry to hear that this didn’t feel fully transparent during your onboarding conversation. For small businesses especially, processing costs can add up quickly depending on transaction volume and pricing structure.
If you’d like, our team can review your Stripe fee structure with you to ensure everything is configured optimally and confirm you’re on the correct pricing plan. We want you to feel confident about the financial side of the platform — not caught off guard by it.
We truly appreciate that you’re otherwise happy with the product, and we value you sharing this perspective.

Occasionally efficient
Today was a better experience, the first time is has been a please process, I would have given them 5 stars. Mostly trying to get help on Momence is a long winded and very frustratingly slow process and very clunky. Trying to actually speak to someone is near impossible and can take weeks.
Very poor service considering how expensive the service is.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
I’m really glad to hear that today’s interaction was a better one — that’s absolutely the standard we aim for every time. That said, I’m sorry to hear that previous attempts to get help felt slow, frustrating, or difficult. That’s not the experience we want anyone to have, especially when you rely on Momence to run your business.
We understand how important it is to get timely, clear support — particularly when you’re paying for a service and need things resolved quickly. Your feedback about response times, accessibility, and the overall support process is incredibly valuable, and we’re continuing to improve both speed and ease of getting connected with the right person.
If there’s anything still unresolved or if you’d like us to review your past experience more closely, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly. We truly appreciate your honesty and the opportunity to do better.

Poor functionality with base Momence foundations
Overall, I'm satisfied with Momence, but there are factors that are still not done that are forcing me to give the rating that I gave. These factors include:
- Class Booking Page: The fact that users cannot navigate back to the schedule from a class booking page is weird. No other registration platform operates this way. Additionally, if someone clicks an old link to a class, they're given a blank page with html text that says "This event has already passed." It's super unprofessional and causes a lot of confusion. Again, no other registration platform operates this way.
- Poor Family Management: Anyone listed as a minor needs to have their transactional emails automatically sent to the listed parent on the account, which is not currently being done. This is also really strange behavior that no other registration platform does. While I like the ease of making new child accounts with dummy accounts, it doesn't work with all email hosts like Yahoo and it ruins the experience of signing someone new up.
- Class Schedule: The class schedule page is poorly designed. The appointments tab calendar view schedule is fine and works really well. I'm not sure why no dev time has been devoted to making the class schedule month view tab look the same as the appointment view. The calendar view tab for classes is deeply flawed, and yet, most clients would rather look at our class offerings using a calendar view design.
- Legal Issues: Using a checkbox to sign waivers is actually fine. We were able to adapt our waiver to suit this and I actually prefer it, however, your system is still poorly planned out for the situation where a parent is going to enroll a child. Parents are CONSTANTLY enrolling themselves instead of their children. I attempted to correct this by putting age restrictions on the classes, only for the parents to CONSTANTLY email us asking why the system was asking for them to pay when they knew their child had a membership. This poorly designed process results in numerous waivers not getting signed properly, so we have to devote time before class to making sure parents get addressed, child accounts get created, and waivers get signed. Guest passes are also a great new feature, but a guest isn't getting their waiver signed when joining a class because their account isn't "real" yet. You're forcing us to accept the liability of taking in a minor without a waiver being signed or having a waiver signed by a parent who is not theirs, which invalidates the waiver in most states.
- Static Class Links: This is a big one for me. While I like being able to send someone a class link to a specific class, I want links to be dynamic, rather than static. It's frustrating that I can't create everlasting posts or webpages that contain links to classes, where a user clicks the link and gets shown all the recurring classes in that template. I have a recurring event on Saturdays that I advertise. I have to manually edit the ad every week with the updated class link, and if I forget, then people click the link and are sent to that really cruddy blank page I talked about before. Why can't class templates have their own pages or links that show a user all the upcoming classes that are linked to that template?
Wrap up:
These issues are all base Momence and they're the ones that are causing me to give the low rating. I know you've been working on new features and things, and while I do like most of them, I'd much rather Momence spend dev time and money actually finishing their base functionality. Gorgeous skyscrapers would crumble and fall without a solid foundation to be built on. This is the path Momence is heading down.
I plug you a lot to my business owner friends, but most of these pain points are the factors that keep more people from porting over and giving Momence a shot.
I want you to succeed. I hope this review was helpful.
EDIT - Replying to the support comment below:
I have dedicated a ton of time to report all these issues to support's email. Some of which haven't been touched. When I type "s" in my "to:" field in my email, momence support is the first suggested option.
>>"Additionally, a lot of the points you've made above you can do in the platform today, perhaps you can request a call back from a Momence teammate to chat through how you can share a static class link as an example!"
This comment makes me think you didn't read my review. I know that you have static class links. What you don't have are dynamic class links, which is what I really want.
It's misleading to say " a lot of points you can do today". No you can't. Family management has somewhat been touched since this review, but is still a big challenge. Everything else I wrote remains untouched like the class enrollment page, schedule view, old links, legal issues with guest passes, etc.
Base features! These need to be done!

Hey Charles, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback — we take all feedback seriously. In fact we'd like to have these feature specific request, comments, suggestion properly logged in our system. Can you please reach out to us at [email protected] to continue the conversation.
Additionally, a lot of the points you've made above you can do in the platform today, perhaps you can request a call back from a Momence teammate to chat through how you can share a static class link as an example!
Our goal is to help empower studio, gym, and wellness center owners to streamline business operations (and more!) — let's chat via [email protected] or in dashboard via chat so we can arrange a call to speak more about these points.
