I have never been much of a student. I rarely did my homework. All my life I was looking for something more, and I was not finding it. But when I finally got the chance to go to graduate school at MIU, things changed. One class at a time was so much easier to focus on. I started to do my homework... and it wasn't a strain. I learned more with less effort. I had more fun. If you have to go to school, this is the one I would recommend.

I enrolled in the Masters degree in Professional Writing at MIU and loved my time there. I was published many times while in the program and for some years after. It was life-changing. I was impressed with the people, made good life-long friends and I loved the profs, most of whom gave personal attention and care to the students and were interesting people themselves. Being a small campus, it was very student friendly and manageable. Although not everyone wants to meditate, I love that part and still visit a couple times a year.

The Peak of all education! Just think of ideal education and try to envision yourself in that setting - would that be nice, fantastic or beyond anything you could imagine? For me it was beyond any expectations, something much more than the fragments I could conceive, a wholeness beyond any concept of learning I could fathom and yet you can at MIU! If you want the best - go for it - it's there for everyone to take part in.

This is, in my opinion and based on my own experience with Consciousness Based Education at Maharishi International University (alumni 1989 - 1992: graduation date 24 Feb. 1992) the university with an approach to gaining knowledge that every student should have the chance to experience! The education at Maharishi International University trains the student to think from the source of thought, pure consciousness, for the development of his or her full creative potential, that allows action in accord with all the laws of nature, for success in any chosen field of professional and personal life, resulting in great achievements, excellent health and deep inner fulfillment.

I'm an alumni from MIU and now I'm in my fifties with 3 children and 30 years teaching ESL for Intelfun inc, a language school that I owned, I can say that being a student at MIU was the best time of my life. I wish every student get a chance to have this enriching experience. To be able to share my knowledge and learn from so many other students from around the globe, you have to experience it first hand to understand.

The classical education system including the universities I have attended prior to MIU has been a very shallow experience leaving the student with nothing more than a piece of paper as a diploma, and if they have any value, books, and notes. I was left with a feeling that I was not educated in the way I would like to have been educated. The studies lacked the connectedness to deeper levels within our own consciousness. Adding Transcendental Meditation to the curriculum connects the field of studies to the knower or the student. For me, this consciousness-based education was exactly what I was looking for, completing my quest for an ideal education, an education that allows me to discover my full potential while simultaneously receiving a degree in classical educational studies.

We have students from 60 countries and we offer a diversity of majors and graduate programs, not just management. So returning to our original name Maharishi International University is very fitting.

MIU is the most friendly, up-to-the minute, progressive, fun and knowledge-filled university ever! I am grateful every day that I am a student at MIU, with nice people everywhere, and a curriculum that is perfect. It is even fairly easy to get super grades with very little effort.
