Meredith is a great company! I have used them for years and will continue to. Top notch vacation rental company. Great prices, and great customer service. Website has been glitching for so many years though...

Hubbert Hideaway is very welcoming.
Hubbert Hideaway in Lincoln City on the Oregon Coast is very welcoming. Sadly, we didn't get to experience the amenities like the hot tub and pool tables, but just sitting by the fireplace, taking in the Pacific Ocean with friends and family was perfect. The location is nice, and the home came stocked with utensils, cookware, shampoo, and towels if we needed any. Our family looks forward to our next visit at Hubbert Hideaway very soon. Thank you for having us!

The location was great for my friend’s…
The location was great for my friend’s birthday celebration in Leavenworth, however there was no hot water for our morning showers, which was a miserable experience and a huge disappointment. We stayed in the Valhalla condo for two nights in late-February, when outdoor temps were 17-22 degrees, and it would have been wonderful to start the day off with a nice hot shower. There are three side-by-side condos on the same floor, all managed by Meredith Lodging. It appears they all share one hot water heater that doesn’t have adequate capacity to supply enough hot water for all three occupied units! Considering I paid $250 per night, I was very displeased. It felt like we were staying in a budget hostel. I left a message for the owners and they never responded.

Hi Krista! We enjoyed hosting you, but we are sorry you had an issue with the hot water that negatively impacted your stay. We checked our correspondence log and see no calls or texts from the number associated with the reservation citing any issues with the water. Had we been notified, we would have gladly sent our maintenance team over to investigate any issues. Post-stay, no issues have been detected, and we have not received any similar complaints from other guests; however we always striving to provide our guests with an excellent rental experience, and have reached out regarding a credit towards a future stay. We value your booking, and hope we have the opportunity to host you again.

Bear Lodge (12) at Big Bear Lake. Feb 22-24. Tim Nuqui
- Some pillows smelled like old sweat.
- Master bath has a huge window with no blinds or a curtain so people outside can almost watch you shower
- The rear burners on the electric stove barely heats up.
- As a winter vacation destination, the house should come with at least a snow shovel if management will not help to dig the vehicles out of the snowed-in drive way. The neighbors had to help after seeing us use a sled to move snow all over our cars.
- The office opens at 8 am but no one answers the phone.
- Day 2 of our reservation, the winter storm plus blizzard was happening.
We did not want to risk traveling especially with little kids. Yes we could've not proceeded with the trip and forfeit our money but the point was, we didnt expect the weather to be that bad. I find it understandable that we were not allowed to extend our stay due to another guest arriving. However, a lady on the phone from the office promised us that they were going to look out for us and help us move into another property should the weather worsen...when the time came, all I got was "Sorry, we got nothing available for you. Try to drive safe out there..." ...that was colder than the weather, but i guess it's just business sooo....take that one however you want.
All in all, nice property. Nicer than management for sure.

If I could give negative stars I would
If I could give negative stars I would. This is a horrible company. A full on scam. We booked a weekend trip to big bear. They emailed and canceled last minute claiming the house was unusable due to an "emergency". We had to book. different cabin the night before we left for our trip. When we tried to get a refund they claimed the house was useable and that they had tried to contact us. Nobody tried to contact us. We had to contact the site we rented from (airbnb) to try and sort this out and get our 1200 dollars back. Airbnb then contacted Meredith Lodging to see what the deal was. Meredith Lodging then claimed that we stayed in the house. We checked into the cabin. And they even claimed that they checked up on us during the trip and that we said everything was good. How they even have the audacity amazes me. Once we proved to airbnb that we were in fact staying in a different cabin (because Meredith Lodging canceled our reservations with them), and sent them the countless bad reviews that this has happened to other people too, we got out money back from Meredith Lodging. Whoever is reading this, stay away from this company. And if you are reading this and you work for Meredith Lodging, know that I despise you.

Hi Nicole. We are sorry to hear you had a disappointing rental experience with us, and apologize for any miscommunication or confusion regarding the status of your cancelled reservation. You did book via Airbnb, so any communication regarding cancellations, complaints or refunds must go through them first, per their policy. We do see that we did try to call the number on file numerous times (the number goes to an Ed Dominick), but never received a call back or a reply to our texts. We are happy to provide a screenshot of the call log associated with your reservation. We understand this situation has been frustrating, and complied with Airbnb resulting in a full refund being issued.

Been staying at By George for over…
Been staying at By George for over seven years now. Never a bad experience, great customer service from Meredith.
Staff is cheery and helpful.the house is older and well priced… could use a little updating, having said that… can’t beat the price or the million dollar view..

Be careful about renting from Meredith Lodging
We rented The Lookout, a home in Lincoln City advertised by Meredith Lodging as a “luxurious retreat,” for four days between Christmas and New Year's. Our arrival was complicated by difficulty gaining access to the house as the electronic lock never worked. Once we entered we were shocked by what we saw. We found dirty, grungy furniture, floors that were scuffed and need refinishing, a dining table with noticeable layers of grime on it, unfinished tiling on the bathroom vanity, few closets to hang clothes, pots and pans that were peeling non-stick coating and were clear health hazards, low water pressure, no hot pads in the kitchen, a cheap compact microwave that was obviously not intended for this kitchen, and no wine glasses.
Furthermore, we had not been informed ahead of time that the house is adjacent to a public access area. At night, people in this area rummaged through the recycling bins for the house. This bin is located inches from the back room of the house where our daughter was staying, and she was awakened at night by loud conversations during this rummaging.
This same back bedroom had a wall hanging above the bed concealing a large circuit breaker. To have a circuit breaker inches from one’s pillow has to be a code violation. Furthermore, there was a large hole in the wall above the breakers, which was not just visually unappealing but also seemingly dangerous.
In addition, one of the windows in the living room leaked in heavy rain. The hot tub cover would not stay on in the strong wind. Water leaked underneath the downstairs door during the strong rain we had during our stay.
As soon as we saw the condition of the house, we asked Meredith to either provide us with a rental in Lincoln City that would meet the “luxury” standards The Lookout was advertised to be or, if one was not available, to refund us half of the $7600 we had paid for the four days. Meredith refused to do so. The only compensation they provided was to bring us wine glasses and a set of new pots and pans.
Meredith was completely disinterested in our concerns. They did the absolute minimum to satisfy us. Their position was, what is unsatisfactory to one person is perfectly fine to another, and “luxury accommodations” are a matter of opinion. They refused to refund any of the $7600. To date, we have not even received our cleaning fee, even though we left the house much cleaner than we found it.
Lastly, it deserves mentioning that we posted a review on The Lookout listing but Meredith has not made it available to the public. In fact, the last review of The Lookout is from March 2022, and the reviews that have been posted are only positive ones.
Please heed our warning and do your due diligence before renting from Meredith Lodging.

Hi Ken. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We reviewed the documented correspondence between you & our guest relations team regarding your dissatisfaction with the home. The home does have general wear and tear as a popular rental; however, no safety issues were reported in the recent home inspection performed by the city. Our management reviewed your concerns in depth and a detailed reply was sent via email. Per their decision as well as adhering to the Rental Agreement that was agreed to and signed upon booking, no compensation will be issued. We know this is not the outcome you may have been hoping for; however this is the decision of the management team after thorough review.

After speaking with Julie, I felt heard. She did her best to work with me and I ended up a happy customer. The process was a bit rocky at first but ended up nice. Thank you Julie and props to Hannah who helped me navigate finding places that met my criteria~
