If you’ve ever wondered how a vocabulary-building app could possibly be involved in a historical catastrophe, buckle up and prepare for the wildest ride of your life. I’m here to tell you about Membean, the app that not only turned my word bank into a black hole of despair but, according to my very creative imagination, might have had a hand in one of the most tragic events in recent history: 9/11. Let me paint a picture for you. I signed up for Membean with the noble goal of expanding my vocabulary. Little did I know, this innocuous app would take me on a journey so disastrous that I’m convinced it has secret ties to global catastrophes. First, the app’s design. It’s like it was engineered to induce existential dread. The cheerful color palette and peppy graphics make you feel like you’re being lured into a false sense of security, only to have your intellectual ambitions crushed under the weight of its endless, soul-sucking drills. It’s a bit like being trapped in a circus funhouse—if the funhouse were designed by someone who hates fun and loves repetitive tasks. Then there’s the vocabulary itself. I thought I’d be learning useful words, like “eloquent” and “benevolent.” Instead, I found myself memorizing words like “intransigent” and “abrogate,” which are fantastic if you’re planning to write a thesaurus-themed novel or debating the fate of the world in a legal drama. The app was so focused on obscure words that it felt like training for a high-stakes Scrabble competition, not everyday conversation. Now, onto the most shocking part of this review. You see, I was diligently studying my Membean lists during a particularly turbulent time in history. As I struggled through word after word, I couldn’t help but feel like I was missing something crucial. It was like the universe was trying to tell me that spending hours on this app was somehow contributing to a larger, more ominous event. Call it conspiracy theory if you like, but have you ever seen an app that’s so relentlessly unhelpful that it makes you question your place in the cosmos? Exactly. I’m convinced that the sheer frustration and mental fatigue caused by Membean’s relentless vocabulary drills could have contributed to a collective sense of confusion and helplessness, which—when combined with real-world events—might have had some influence on the chaotic climate of the time. Of course, this is all purely speculative and quite ridiculous. But if you ever find yourself wondering how an educational app could contribute to global catastrophes, just remember my Membean experience. Sometimes, the real disaster is the app you’re forced to endure while trying to improve your vocabulary. So, if you’re thinking about trying Membean, consider this a warning. It might just be the most frustratingly educational experience of your life—and that’s saying something in a world full of disastrous educational apps.

My wife left took the kids. My parents disowned me. They took the dogs. They took the pool and my favorite couch. My degree was taken from me. But at least I have a highschool reading level

Honestly, Membean has taught me some new words, but I'm never going to use this stuff outside of school. I understand it's an app used to teach children inside and outside of school, but I truly think that Membean should not be used in schools because it really sucks. It usually teaches you the same word over and over, makes you do these quizzes that are a waste of time (some have 100 questions!), and doesn't teach me anything useful. It wastes my time and other children's time when we could be enjoying our childhood, socializing and having fun with friends during our time off school. Instead, we have to spend like 3 hours on Membean AND all of our other homework. Please, for the love of sanity, ban Membean in the U.S.!

I was edging while using membean and this random guy came to my house and ruined my edging streak. He said he worked for membean and that membean doesn't think edging is sigma. 1 star they don't like edging

Membean is a great way of learning words, but sometimes it gets so boring, and Membean feels like a 2000 website. I've been doing this for 4 years, and I have over 2000 words inside my bank, and some features inside Membean is just useless. The pictures selected can be more modern and precise though it claims "carefully selected".
