We were celebrating our 28 year…
We were celebrating our 28 year anniversary and my husband made reservation’s at the Melting Pot as he knew I have always wanted to try it. Upon arrival everything was lovely. My husband paid to have our table garnished with rose petals and a vase of red roses. But the from, everything went down hill. We explained to our waitress that we were first timers and so excited to try fondue! We paid for the full 4 course experience and asked her advice on what to order with little or now feedback so we just picked what we thought sounded good. Our app was not good. Our cheese was cold only later to figure out our cooktop wouldn’t stay on. When our main entree/protein came, we had no idea what we were eating bc no one told us what the meats were so we guessed and that made all the cook times wrong so we mostly kept starting to eat what was still raw meat and kept putting it back to cook longer. What we thought was duck, was sirloin and what we thought was ahi tuna was pork etc. Nothing was explained to us. Our waitress was mostly MIA so when I knocked over my cocktail trying to get to the cooking sauce, it took probably another 20 mins to request another. Our dessert was very good and what I tried to focus the positive on. When a young man came to our table to clear some plates we asked him about boiling the meats and that we weren’t impressed and he told us “you should have chosen the grilling experience” Yes, we should have had we known that was an option!! Again, no one told us anything. I blame our waitress who was mostly MIA for not informing us to anything! Our experience was horrible and as far as my husband is concerned, we will never be back. I’m sad about that because I really had high expectations 😞
