Update: Jennifer in MSC team did process my refund and apologized. For this I am thankful to her and updating my review for her understanding and getting my $$ back, but it did happen after lot of follow ups, added stress and wasted my daughter's crucial time. New people considering these advisors should really do their due diligence and not fall for their bogus claims ! I bought director level package in hopes of getting a specific physician who was promised to me until the date I bought the package. As soon as I paid, i was assigned different physician. They kept on telling me lies where reality was that specific physician wasn't available. On top of it the college advisor they assigned went on leave and they had no clue when she would be back and so they asked me to switch to standard level advisor and then switch back to her, once she is available. On asking questions after i paid, they take long time and multiple reminders and always answer in circles and never get back with actual stats of allotted advising team. They say sorry but never fix the issue.

Hi Parul, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are truly sorry to hear how disappointed and frustrated you feel. We understand how important this process is for students and their families, and we recognize that your experience did not meet the expectations you had when you chose to work with us. We sincerely apologize for the frustration surrounding your advisor assignment and the unexpected leave of your college advisor. We understand how unsettling those changes can be, particularly when they occur early in the advising process. While advisor availability can sometimes change unexpectedly, we recognize that clear communication and setting appropriate expectations are critical, and we're sorry that you felt we fell short in both areas. Our goal is always to provide transparent communication and timely support, and it is disappointing to learn that this was not your experience. With respect to your request to discontinue services, I want to acknowledge that I have processed your refund and canceled your subscription. While we do have established refund policies that are applied consistently across all clients, I wanted to ensure your request was handled as promptly as possible. We appreciate you sharing your feedback, as it helps us identify opportunities to improve both our communication and the experience we provide to our students and families. We are genuinely sorry that we were not able to earn your confidence, and we wish your child every success as they continue their journey toward medical school. Best regards, Jennifer Urso VP of Services

My experience with MedSchoolCoach has been pleasant but disappointing. My assigned advisor was kind; however, there were occasions where I had to contact her several times before she would respond to my emails. And when she did respond, it was sometimes to say she had to reach out to another coach for answers to my questions, which made me doubt her knowledge of the application process. I enjoyed my interview prep and found the interviewer to be very knowledgeable. He had good advice and tips and will definitely implement these in upcoming interviews. Despite genial encounters with the staff, I do not think I will recommend MedSchoolCoach to future medical school applicants. The price point is not in accordance in the guidance provided. I do not think having MedSchoolCoach provided me any particular insights into the application process that I could not have found through my own research. In fact, many of the questions I had regarding the application process I still had to find answers to on my own. It is nice the faculty are so friendly. However, I do not need to pay such a steep price to talk to pleasant people, and I doubt any other applicants need to either. It is not that MedSchoolCoach is bad; it is just too expensive for the mediocre help they provide.

While Dr. Robison had insightful ideas about how to consider one's interview answers, I did not feel that he sufficiently listened to me or the questions I had - he had a prepared structure and lecture on how to prepare for a traditional interview, which was somewhat helpful but clearly something he shares with many students. I had hoped for more direct feedback on specific issues I wanted to work on with him, and genuinely considered asking for a refund after he spent less than 20 minutes actually mock interviewing me, and 40+ minutes giving me his stump speech.

My MedSchoolCoach experience was really good overall, but my second mock interview was not what I was expecting. I noticed the interviewer did not prepare his question ahead of time, and the feedback was too general. I really wanted to how I could improve MY answers and not how someone else could answer that question.

I appreciated the feedback my mock interviewer gave to me. It was helpful to be given a scenario, respond, and then be given feedback. This format allowed us to maximize the number of scenarios we went through within the hour. Somethings I would improve are the fact that questions were verbalized , rather than written, and also, the service is quite pricey. $35O for one hour is not an easy thing for most pre-meds to shell out, and just wished there were maybe two sessions incorporated, or maybe even a half an hour session that provides interview tips or don'ts? However, my interviewer did answer my questions after the mock MMI, which went over the hour, so extra appreciation to him for that. Overall, good experience. I did learn more about my answers and how to improve upon them, would just adjust pricing because there are other services I tried where the price is less, but the quality of feedback was the same, if not better.

I used MedSchoolCoach to help with my med school secondaries. I looked up the person assigned to help me and they did come from a very prominent medical school and had very good credentials. I submitted my primary application and materials as requested. I was disappointed when I had my brainstorming session that my advisor obviously hadn't read my primary application or materials. They spent a lot of time giving me general advice on writing my secondaries which I could find myself researching online. I know I am responsible for writing all my own material on my secondaries but I had hoped they would have looked at my personal information. Maybe given me suggestions on things i have experienced that would be good to bring out, helping me with my biggest problem of figuring out what to write about. When I did submit my secondaries the person was effecient at editing them and got them back to me in a timely manner.

Overall, it wasn't really worth the price I paid. Only the essay and interview services were decent (even then overpriced). Don't waste money on the full package. My mentor was never available for me to chat, and would keep deferring meetings to discuss things. They're real physicians I get that but if I'm paying that much they could at least make some time to talk about the application! They didn't give me advice or heads up about certain deadlines to meet, which delayed things. The interview and essay service can be bought separately.
