I used MedSchoolCoach with a Master Physician Advisor during my application cycle in 2022, and I did not get into any the over 25+ programs I got into. Other than me reaching out directly to my advisor, MedSchoolCoach nor my advisor proactively provided me with guidance. My experience was like having a direct email line to a physician who would just revise my application. I didn't receive guidance on sending update letters to schools when I didn't hear back from any programs for interviews. I didn't feel that anyone on the team at MedSchoolCoach cared or was looking out for my success. The $10k we spent on MedSchoolCoach was very regretful. I do not recommend to anyone.

I found the interviewer for my mock MMI to be not very helpful. He asked a total of 4 questions, all which were basic and on any free online resource. He rambled on for a while about unrelated topics, which wasted the limited amount of time we had. He also did not provide helpful or specific feedback. The MMI was also not structured- no timer, no follow up questions. Overall, not worth the whopping $350. The experience was something I could have found on Google or Youtube for free.

I had several issues with my experience. My biggest issue was that they accidentally sent one of my essays to another applicant. I was very upset that my intellectual property was given to another applicant who was in the same cycle as me. They give you pretty basic help, information that you can easily find on Reddit/MedicalSchoolHQ. Their critiques on my personal statement and essays were extremely basic. In fact, they missed a few major corrections that my family members, who are physicians, and friends were able to catch. By my request, I got switched halfway to another physician and writing advisor. They were much more helpful, but still not worth the money I paid. I will say their interview prep was useful, but for everything else, I would recommend just saving your money.

They did not give me access to the exams I have purchased.

They offer good quality tutors, but their master advising program is misleading. They do not tell you upfront that the master advising is contingent upon you purchasing tutoring hours with regular tutors. After purchasing the master advising program (in addition to purchasing regular tutoring hours) where a master advisor oversees your learning, you are abruptly informed that the master advisor cannot work with you because you are out of regular tutoring hours. Students must be informed that in order for a master advisor to continue working with you, you must (at all times, have enough regular tutoring hours purchased). This is misleading to students.

Honestly, I was quite disappointed with the quality of the lessons given the exorbitant amount of money I paid for them. I paid for a high rated tutor, and instead received a peer who was coaching me based on his own quite recent experience rather than intel amassed from coaching many students over a longer period of time. My tutor was kind and pleasant to work with, hence the two rather than one stars, however, I would opt for someone who has a broader skillset and more experience given the pricing.

the MCAT tutor was great. When I did a trial meeting for a coach for my application, they said I had potential. Once I bought the package, he said I shouldn't apply, not nobody will get back to me on refunds (message sent at7:32 AM and voicemail left without response until almost 9:00, so not 2’minutes before I posted, thank you though...) or anything after I was discouraged from applying. I am so upset and hurt that they would do this after I put my trust in them to help me.
