Medium provides sub-par content and expects people to pay for it. In a time where magazines and newspapers with real authors have articles that are free, Medium takes the moral low ground by allowing mostly unrefined writers post useless articles that don't really provide any value. They really need to either become part of a larger organization like Oath, AOL or something and charge nothing or find another way to earn revenue. Otherwise, it's a total rip off and I woudln't suggest anyone pay anything to that site.

Emailed customer service. Found answer on my own. That didn't stop their tech (?) support emailing two days later with a completely wrong answer that was contrary to common sense and the actual facts. Kind of bogus. I have my calendar notated for well before the one-year mark, in order to cancel my subscription.

I have known several people to be banned and several writers as well. Apparently reality is taboo and worthy of ban. I deactivated my account and donated money to the platform that hosts those writers now. No need for another platform that tells you how to think.

Over the last month, some of the articles were mildly interesting. More importantly, many of the articles were short, breezy, and light, with little depth and insight. Like the total Internet, just another Candy Crush of words and unfocused thought. After reading five articles, they insist I subscribe and pay $5 per month. There are fools everywhere, but not here.
