I think it is a helpful website when you're seeking perspective, not answers, on many of life's talking points. Where I find value with it, and sadly lots of people don't subscribe to this idea, is that lots of writers share their insights based on experiences more so than statistics. This is especially abundant in the areas of self-improvement and relationships. This encourages the reader to form their own opinions and contemplate the message. On the internet, articles about cosmic theories and medical dilemmas that are backed with citations and bar graphs are really a dime-a-dozen. Not to say those articles are not helpful, rather that Medium.com has a platform where people can say "this is what happened and this is what I learned" as opposed to "these are the facts and here's ten other things you probably wont read to support these facts". Be warned, though; I strongly believe it's up to the reader to decide for themselves if what they read on Medium.com proves enlightening in any way, as there truly is twice as much garbled flotsam as there is inspiring jetsam. Some articles that are recurring or promoted posts can be really harmful. It is wise to be vigilant when it comes to what you read on Medium.com. Take small bites.
