You'll notice in my previous review that it took them 15 days to respond to me and it was via this portal, not by calling me back, not replying to the interactions I had with them on their site and email, but through this portal. Nuts. Well I spent my time and money to fix the chipper that was delivered to me damaged and literally missing a throttle assembly. Ran fine a few times. Went to start it back up today and the battery has gone bad. Within 4 months of delivery. Bad battery. Not dead battery, I can charge a battery. The battery has literally gone bad. Posting this here to see how long it takes them to get back in touch with me as this is apparently their preferred method. I'm sure the emails and calls will go unanswered like they were previously.

I purchased a STL 1000 Mini Skid Steer…
I purchased a STL 1000 Mini Skid Steer in May of 2026. After running the unit for a short time it develop a fuel leak. I sent in a claims report with no response. I tried to call MechMax several times and emailing the technical support. The warranty department is non existent. Cannot get anyone on the phone and emails go unanswered. I have filed a complaint with the BBB along with all the other complaints that have been filed with them.
After posting this review Mechmaxx did reach out to me and was willing to resolve my issue. It’s too bad that it comes down to posting a bad review before something is done.
We're back to the same issue as before. A Tech. did contact me about the fuel leak. He was going to look into the problem of nobody contacting me after sending in the calms report. He gave me his direct number to call. But that number dose not get answered. It goes to voice mail which I did leave a message to call me. NO CALL BACK,EMAILS DO NOT GET ANSWERED EITHER. WARNING IF YOU BUY THERE PRODUCT THERE IS NO WARRANTY!! I'll see if the BBB can help or get the information out about how horrible this company is to deal with.

The worst company you can do business…
The worst company you can do business with. I purchased the stump grinder and paid extra for the "peace of mind" delivery. I assumed that someone would call to coordinate delivery. Instead, after a few weeks, Mechmaxx called and said that because the delivery address was on a dead end road, and they deliver with only 18 wheeled tractor trailer, they would not attempt delivery. The item was returned from the freight deliverer to Mechmaxx's factory. However, they placed a charge on my credit card for over $600 for failed shipping. I protested the charge with my credit company and they stopped payment. I also placed a negative review on Trust Pilot. A few days later, a supervisor from MechMaxx called, acted sincere, and said that Mechmaxx would refund the $600 plus shipping provided that I cancel the dispute with my credit card company and take down my review. Believing that this company would act in good faith, I cancelled the dispute and took down the original review. I'm not looking to ruin anyone's business and assumed this company made a mistake. It has now been a month and Mechmaxx has refused to refund the $600 and they will not respond to my emails. I decided to shop at Farmry instead for the stump grinder and bought the exact same equipment except it has a green label (it's all made in China and Mechmaxx or Farmry slaps a label on it). The price was a little higher but Farmry does not charge for shipping, unlike MechMaxx, which makes the final price cheaper. The representatives at Farmry seemed genuinely interested in making me a happy customer, coordinated my delivery and I would recommend them over Mechmaxx anytime.
Update: Mechmaxx read the above review and contacted me to process my refund. I recieved the refund and I am fully whole. It is unfortunate that I had to write another review for them to comply with their promise to refund my money.

Substandard product; bad service
(See below for more details) Product arrived with loose, unpackaged hardware, which causes a safety issue and an assembly issue. The rotor cover does not close properly. Shipment packaging was very difficult to remove. Customer service has not met their obligations to rectify, and in fact have been very difficult to reach. This unit has been sitting idle for two months. I will never buy a MecMaxx product again.
More detailed rundown of the MechMaxx experience (order 66791, DCH7 chipper)
• Purchasing was easy
• Delivery was fast, I think it was maybe four or five days after purchase.
• The chipper came in a metal shipping frame that needed to be disassembled and removed.
o The chipper unit looked unscathed
o The metal frame was attached in a way that made removal very difficult. It took roughly 4 hours of deftly positioning several hydraulic jacks and stacks of wood to lift the unit so that the frame (which was partly welded and could not be fully disassembled) could be worked out from under the unit, gradually. It was NOT SAFE by any means.
I found myself wondering who developed such a customer unfriendly design.
There was no instruction in the manual for frame removal.
The only video I found had a guy picking up the unit with a skid steer so he could remove the frame. How many consumers have a skid steer at their disposal?
• Various parts were stacked up in the feed chute. The larger parts were mostly wrapped and undamaged. However:
o There were loose nuts and bolts lying on the floor of the feed chute, with little or no packaging. These items had direct access to the feed assembly and rotor casing, indicating the risk that they had migrated to the feed and rotor, thus posing a SAFETY ISSUE.
o Some of the large parts had bolts & nuts already attached loosely, I assume to make sure the right ones were used in the right place. However, the nuts were only finger tight, and in some cases were missing.
o Installation instructions had “to scale” drawings of the bolts that were not to scale.
o One muffler gasket was also in the loose items, and the drawings and muffler both look like there should have been two.
• I did at one point use the “Contact Us” page to request a recommendation for a high altitude carburetor kit, since I live at 8500’ altitude. No response was received.
• On 8/21, I waited on the customer service line from 1:42 pm to 2:10 pm before Noah picked up. I described the missing pieces and he said he would forward the request for replacements to the product service team, who should (by his assertion) have contacted me by close of business the following Monday. No such contact was received after the conversation with Noah.
• I did manage to get the wheel assembly attached after purchasing a replacement M12 bolt that was missing from the wheel frame. Given the lack of customer service response, finding my own replacement was the prudent thing to do.
• I opened the rotor cover to see if there were any loose parts in the rotor casing, which fortunately there were not.
o The rotor cover would not close completely, afterward. It appears that the forward wall of the cover is warped and will not clear the casing under it.
o I have pictures of the rotor cover warping, but the warranty claim form on the MechMaxx website does not have provision to attach any files.
• I stopped assembly at this point and opted to call customer support again on 9/4 at 2:00pm. At 2:32pm the queue transferred me over to voicemail, and I did not get to speak to a human. I left a terse message, and never received a reply.
• Since that time I have stood down on any further assembly, until the issues were rectified. This means that in the event assembly recommences, I might find other issues.
• PLEASE NOTE: I filed a dispute with my credit card at that point, since the product was defective and the warranty was not being honored. Thus, I did not receive what I paid for.
This is a significant amount of frustration for an $8300 product that has sat idle for two months, and a lot of time wasted. The MechMaxx product and company has been one disappointment after another. The unit is currently unusable and I’m missing the short period of good weather to do chipping on my 13-acre forested property. I am exploring means beyond the dispute claim to get this rectified. All I want is a working unit. MechMaxx has so far demonstrated that they don’t care, and as such I will not purchase any more products from this company.

WORST POSSIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE IF YOU COULD EVEN CALL IT THAT
We have experienced the WORST POSSIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SUPPORT. IT TOOK US SEVERAL MONTHS TO GET PROPER PARTS from MechMax THEN WE HAD TO TRAILER OUR UNIT TO A SMALL ENGINE REPAIR PERSON. THEY REFUSED TO REIMBURSE us FOR REPAIRS and TOWING THEY AUTHORIZED. WE are OUT 1k in addition to the purchase price to get our unit running. And then it’s very temperamental.
Horrible customer support. We are on our own.
