On January 18 I received a call from MD Save advising me that I owed $162 for a CT scan. I had been advised by my doctor that I would be paying a $100 fee for a CT scan. Since I needed the scan for Makoplasty surgery of my left knee, I went ahead and made the payment of $162, billed to my American Express. When I went for my CT scan I found out that that $162 was for something completely different than what I was supposed to be billed - Cardiac CT Calcium Scoring, a CT of the heart. Beaufort Memorial billing department called MD Save and was advised that I would be receiving a credit on my American Express card in approximately 10 days. It’s been over 10 days and I have not seen a credit.

My health insurance wouldn't pay for basic labs until I met my deductible. Learned about MD save and waved $200 by using this program instead of paying cash.
