Client service was insensitive and…
Client service was insensitive and cruel at a time when I was already battered by the medical system and grieving my husband’s death. The attorneys gleefully took full credit for my insurance payout after minimal effort was required on their part. Fortunately I had tremendous emotional support after my husband’s accident and passing, but McKennon was not part of that network, quite the contrary. There are other attorneys out there who treated me and undoubtedly treat all their clients with respect and compassion. Not this one.

Mary, What a shame that you would rate me and my firm with one star and make the comments you have made. They are not appropriate or merited. When you came to me, your life insurance claim with MetLife was denied and you asked me to represent you to recover your life insurance death benefits for the tragic death of your beloved husband. You signed a fee agreement with my firm on a contingency fee basis and you agreed to pay my firm a percentage of the death benefit I could recover for you. I immediately went to work on this claim, obtained the claim file, sent in appropriate forms and otherwise sent several letters to MetLife requesting they pay the full death benefit. MetLife decided to pay your claim in full based on my letters and my firm's reputation for aggressive litigation if MetLife did not pay this claim as my firm has successfully litigated many cases against MetLife. Admittedly, I did not have to spend a significant amount of time on your case as MetLife paid your claim quickly after only a few letters from my firm. However, my fee was based on a percentage of the recovery no matter how many hours I spent on your matter or how many letters my firm sent to MetLife. You were upset at having to pay my fee but as you know, our agreement entitled my firm to a contingency fee and I was owed this fee. I am sorry you feel the fee was too high for the work expended on your matter, but you did sign an agreement to pay me the fee that I received. I only was paid the fee you agreed to. I am convinced that if I litigated your case and did not recover any money, even though my fee agreement would not have entitled my firm to any fee, you would not have paid me for my time because you felt sorry for me. You would have told me we had to abide by my firm's fee agreement. I would have agreed and not been paid anything. So, on the other hand, when I am too good at my job and get your full benefits without a significant amount of work, it is only right and appropriate that you pay me as you agreed. I am very sorry for the loss of your husband but I am very happy I was able to get you the money you deserved. I hope you are doing well.
