They are the absolute worst. It is as if they took people off the street with no training to run a hotel and rewards and customer service. This is just one example:
stayed at a spring hill suites 2 weeks ago, thought instead of waiting in line at the hotel to check out and get receipt, I'd just log in and download it. 2 weeks later, still can't download receipt, not there. They say there are some properties that don't have "online capability" so on hold and talking with them for over 20 minutes, just to get a stinking receipt. Then she accidentally disconnects me. Think she'll call back since she has my phone number? Nope. Call back, another 20 minutes. they have to submit a ticket which will take up to 4 days to have someone address it JUST TO GET A FREAKING COPY OF MY BILL!!! So now I'm calling the hotel directly hoping they can help. But the line just rings and rings and rings, no answer. Called 3 times now. This is truly just typical of every time I have to do anything with Marriott. Their app is awful, customer service folks are nice but incapable. Going back to Hilton. Done with this nonsense.

I was the highest elite status for…
I was the highest elite status for years . I quit staying at any and all Marriott properties. The elite status is all B.S . The customer service agents at the Elite desk are from countries that don’t understand or speak very good English and I believe that is part of the problem. The outright lies that these people tell are like they are reading off of a script . It’s all I’m so sorry , blah , blah and then play the … oh , so sorry but the hotel was sold out … no , it wasn’t . I have been told over the last 6 years that I can’t get an early check in EVERY SINGLE TIME . It doesn’t matter what county , city , time of year or day of the week it is … it’s ALWAYS an NO for early check in . I’m not talking about several hours for early check In I’m taking two hours at most . I know Marriott is a multi billion dollar company and the $45,000 ish I spent a year at Marriotts will not be missed . Also , with the new points system it will cost you $500 to buy enough points to stay one night at a decent Marriott property , or book online with ORBITS or any other discount hotel APP . It’s a shame because Marriott and their subsidiaries used to be a great hotel for a decent price and the customer service was always friendly and helpful.

Both Marriott and Bonvoy no longer care.
On December 29th & 30th, we reserved 2 – 1 Bedroom suites for our family to stay in on the evening of March 10th, at a cost of 32,000 points. On March 10th, I checked into the Marriott Courtyard – Charlotte – Billy Graham location with my family for a one-night stay while we awaited a connecting flight.
On March 8th, I contacted the location to give them our flight arrangements because we were not arriving until 10:30PM. At the time, they confirmed the reservation and said the late check in was not an issue. When we arrived, we immediately called the location to arrange a pickup at the airport. We waited for over 45 minutes and several phone calls to the location, with the final call being told “He is on his way, don’t worry.”
When we finally arrived, we met the young lady that was so “pleasant” on the phone when she informed us that we were being placed in a King-sized room and 2 double room, I asked her what happened with the suites we reserved, she simply said “They are not available.” We asked why and she said, “You are welcome to stay somewhere else, but are unlikely to be able to find a room as every hotel is sold out.” She continued to inform us that we needed to decide soon as the 2 rooms she was “Allowing us to use” were the last 2 rooms she had available. Disappointed but tired, we agreed and proceeded to our room. We opened the double room and found the bed stripped, the sheets thrown about the room and the rest of the room uncleaned. (I have pictures) We called from our other room to the front desk. The agent at the front desk informed us that we could come down and get a key to another room (Despite her previously telling us that there were no other rooms). We complied and came down for another key. When we got to that room, the key did not work. We then called once again, and she told us we had to come down for yet another key. Once again, we complied and finally got into the room. When we pulled out the bed from the couch (What we were trying to avoid by getting a suite), we found the sheets obviously used and disheveled, with the top sheet shredded in the bed. (I have pictures)
In preparation for our flight early the next morning, we packed up at 5:30am and headed out. My wife decided to take the stairs as she was uncomfortable in the small elevator. She opened the door to the stairwell and found what appeared to be a dead body in the stairwell (You BET I have pictures of this). We reported the person and showed the picture to the front desk and the reaction was not what we expected. No one called the police, no one appeared to be shocked by this and no one even went to investigate. It was as if it happens every day.
To make matters worse, I filed a complaint to Bonvoy and never received a response in 4.5 weeks. When I called them, the "Supervisor" berated me for over 30 minutes and then hung up on me after telling me that the complaint was being tagged so no future employee will consider the complaint in any additional manner.

Not easy !!
Hi, I am new to this, I needed to make. Trip to Panamá in Central America, I was not sure which hotel to stay in , I received a notice saying that I will get a free stay at the hotel by Los pueblos in Panamá , if I filed up the applications , i singed up a 7 day stay , then when I arrived at the counter, the clerk had no idea what I was talking about . No discount No free night ,
I feel like I was tricked into choosing this hotel, I will be very careful next time !!!

ZERO stars for Marriott Bonvoy
If there were ZERO stars I would give it ZERO stars. When Starwood owned the program, you had a chance at finding good hotels with points.
Once Marriott took over, most hotels are "unavailable" even when I try to book months in advance.
We tried reserving hotels in London, and tried to book 4 months in advance, and on the Marriott Bonvoy website they had only three hotels available with points (the ones that charge $1,000 /night and would have used up almost all our points)....but when I call the particular Marriott hotels in London that are reasonably priced (and there are many) directly, they have plenty of rooms, just can't book with points. This program is a joke!! I will definitely stop using this credit card, and go to one that lets you use the benefits they advertise!!
This is not the only time this happened...this has happened to us with Marriott Bonvoy before..they "block" reasonably priced Marriott hotels so that you can't book with points.

Stay away from loyalty program
Last time I was kindly notified that my points will expire, this time no such luck and no willingness to reverse this even though it was just a month ago. 100k points gone in an instant. Stay away from this loyalty program. I am a frequent user of a number of these programms, but this is by far the worst in regards to earning, redemption and most importantly service.
Not sure what the expectations of Marriott are after this, but I can assure you I will go out of my way to not stay in one of their hotels.

Marriot Homes & Villas, Maison Privee Dubai
I rented an apartment through Marriott Bonvoy (Homes & Villas). Despite issues with their management company i could not get in touch with Marriott (only email - really??). Finally they did nothing to alleviate concerns. Moreover their management company, Maison Privee, totally bungled it. And they did not send me the usual email to leave feedback! Scam, both these companies.
