I think as long as you are Residence Inn, Courtyard, Fairfield and other established Marriott properties, you are safe so to speak. Beware Marriott acquired brands or takeover hotels such as the one I just stayed in : Four Points Sheraton Ft Walton Beach. I needed one night after condo stay was over, booked through Bonvoy and was overly fixated on a beach view and did not do my homework. This is a worn out property w ragged room-furnishings, an old look and very understaffed. Check in area pushes line into gift shop, $20 breakfast very mediocre and beach front rooms have exterior doors which made me nervous. Great pool area/ cabana/ grille but needs remodeling at every turn. It’s a very basic hotel and I had to push for a promised free breakfast after my 4 o’clock check in was moved to 6. Unacceptable. Lesson learned.

A person walked into my room in Hyatt…
A person walked into my room in Hyatt Regency, Milwaukee, at 1100PM because the same room was assigned to separate guests. It was a terrifying experience for both, at that late night.
Then month later, my credit card was double billed for the same stay. I called the hotel multiple times and they kept denying that I had been billed twice. Then I had to dispute the charges with my credit card bank. They investigated and found out that the bill for the second person was also charged to my card.
This is something that I also clearly asked the hotel and they denied.
Till date I have not received a single call or email from the hotel apologizing for their error and all the trouble I had to go through. And I am a frequent customer to these group of hotels. Absolutely ridiculous behavior and treatment of their guest.

I can’t use my Marriot reward pointls
I can’t use my Marriot reward points after cancelled car rental reservation w/ redeemed points since Marriott don’t put points into my reward account. They told me that it will takes 4-6 weeks to get points into my reward account. Even into my creditcard account that I paid $311.50 w/ my creditcard for reservation. They put back other points after I cancelled.
They are very unprofessional and very rude.
They don’t try to help me.
They told me to call other dept since it is other dept who can help. I was keep transfer to different dept but no one helped me for this issue. I called total 4 different number.
This is very annoying w/ Marriott’s serives.

Marriott Bonvoy services horrible
Marriott Bonvoy worst run program i've dealt with. I have never heard of programs expiring their points, but the fact that Marriott saying i was notified of points expiration is a complete lie. I checked my email and had no such reminder. I've been a customer for over 10 years with 100k+ points (now expired), customer service basically told me to kick rocks.
Apparently Marriot wanted me risk my health to travel and book a hotel during peak COVID times to maintain my points.
I would avoid this program if i was a new customer. I signed up for an Amex card thinking these point wouldn't expire. I plan to avoid Marriott hotels for all my future hotel bookings

Marriot Bonvoy points is totally a…
Marriot Bonvoy points is totally a scam.
I have stayed with Marriot in 4 seperate instances in seperate countries i.e Hotels ( UK, Austria, Indonesia) in the past six months. Story is same everytime which makes me think it is a global management scam.
- For stay of 4 or more nights, automatically account reduces it to 2nights. Had to contact customer service and then hotel to get it corrected ( happened 3 times )which is a lengthy process. Hotel reception gets a different details on their computer i.e 4 nights vs customer app says 2nights.
- you are entitled to get points for spa and dining at the hotel whereas inspite of giving bonvoy number and room number everytime, staff insists that they will add it all , which they don't. Later on chasing them becomes impossible once you have checked out and moved on in life.
- Marriot claims it takes 10 days to 30days to get these points added to the system, one of my case is 6 months old, 2nd one is not engaging i.e hotel, 3rd one is already 10days past ( huge points still not added correctly), 4th one is the same but unable to raise it in app as it has happened last week.
- For every episode customer care team asks for same info and it appears that they want to make this process so laborious that people don't bother. I have exchanged more than 20 to 30 emails but customer service replies with generic text without resolving the matter. Irony is next email via app goes to another agent who will start all over again.
- For me, I can say in the last 6 months with 4 seperate stay achieving 10nights was such a put off , that I won't bother with this point loyalty system. I travel heavily ( every 6 weeks across the world and stay in 5star hotels ), never had this kind of issue with Hilton Honors or other loyalty programmes. I have patiently spent too much time on this but it feels after my last experience, this is a management madeup system to reduce points otherwise why different hotels would have same problem ( Westin, Delta, Marriot), app says wrong number of nights, spa and dining not added. By the way all these reservations were made via marriot website and not Third-party.
Certainly not worth it, the amount of time you need to spend begging for your own points sounds ridiculous.
