Do not trust Marriot Bonvoy "Cancellation policy". I prepaid a stay at Sonder hotel and two weeks later when Sonder announced bankruptcy I cancelled my booking. Contacted Marriott Bonvoy for refund, Marriottbonvoy refused to refund and asked me to contact my bank giving the reason that Marriott didn't not charged my credit card. But the fact is when I prepaid my booking with MarriottBonvoy, they accepted the payment.

Quite extraordinary that, having joined the rewards programme, if you book through anyone other than the hotel or Marriott International itself, the room is not eligible for points or airline credit. No Elite night credit is given for rooms reserved in this way.

Be aware and know that even corporate doesn’t care if the associates treat you with disrespect. I had a certificate 50,000 points for one night stay and I had some points already in my account. I called to see if I could add 19,000 to the 50,000 and the associate told me I could add up to 25,000. I got my dates together and called back and another associate told me I couldn’t add the 19,000 to the 50,000. I explained to her I had recently spoke with another associate before her and she said I could add them. She was very rude and she had the audacity to tell me that I needed to listen. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she wouldn’t let me talk to one. I called and spoke another associate and explained what happened. He tried for right at an hour and couldn’t get a supervisor. I called back the next day and finally got to speak with a supervisor that said I would hear from the in a couple of days. If you are a member you know it takes a lot points to stay at there properties. They emailed me that said they would give 5,000 points for all my troubles. This was an insult. 5,000 want get you a room. I emailed them back to let them know it was unsatisfactory and they emailed me back that’s all they were going to do for my troubles. I emailed them again stating I’m still unsatisfied and they emailed me back again that’s all they were going to do for me. Bottom line they don’t care, even corporate!!! The date of the incident may be off a few days

You will never be able to use a cash+points option. They do advertise that this option is based on availability but they are lying. There is not one hotel and date that will offer it. I had some leftover points on my account that will go to waste because i am not booking through a company that falsely advertises a cash+ points option.

Company told me I had an offer with 50% bonus points, go to offer and it provides less than this. Ask why and they don't know. As the highest tier of member already ask what I need to do extra to qualify, they don't know. Untrustworth.

I called Marriott Bonvoy to book a stay using points and the customer service person provided information about a vacation pkg for $199 for 4 bites and 5 days at one of their timeshare locations . I said I was fooled once by this and I was never able to book a stay after paying the $199 pkg fee due to a complete lack of availability of rooms. On this call She described the room being offered as a spacious living room kitchen and a whirlpool in the bedroom and said the cost would be $249 in total . $199 now and $50 when I make the reservation . Well that was in January 2026 and after 5 calls to secure a reservation (4 calls there were no available units) I booked a stay for October only to find that the room presented by the agent would be an additional $249.00 ! So I have been fooled 2x by Marriott Bonvoy on their bait & switch tactics. I will not b fooled a third time. I will not b using my Bonvoy cc in the future and After I use up my 800,000 points I will Cx this credit card . This is a very good example of bait & switch by Marriott and it’s not a viable way to retain good customers who have had their cc for greater than 12 years .

Was at the Mariott Bonvoy West Toledo on Secor Road. There 5 nights, specifically requested housekeeping 3 times, never saw them. Reservation was also set up to include breakfast, which we were told does not exist when checking in. Originally booked room for 14 nights...I cut the reservation short, moved to IHG which was next door to this place. Still haven't heard from anyone from Mariott, nor received points for the time spent at this facility!

Waited 40 minutes to chat with a "live agent" pnly to be kicked back to the AI assistant. They don't give a damm.
