GMAT Tutoring
I chose a GMAT private tutoring option with John Cho and have nothing but great things to say about the experience. I had taken the GMAT a few years ago after studying on my own and got a 700. I had every intention of retaking it to get a higher score, but ended up taking about a 2 year break from GMAT before trying again... I actually did worse. Figured I needed some more in-depth help and found John. I purchased a package of 10 hours, which, after talking with John about what would work best, we used at a rate of about 1/week, with a couple breaks here and there when I had conflicts. John really impressed me with how quickly he honed in on my weak spots. I have historically struggled with quant and John was able to give me specific feedback about problem types that I was consistently struggling with. We did some "back to basics" drills that I would never have thought to do... but I think those had a huge impact on my score. He assigned homework after every session which was always thoughtfully chosen. Usually it was a combination of new concepts we had reviewed in our session and older concepts that needed to become more of a habit. John was great to work with - he is super nice and very encouraging, but at no point did I ever feel like he was being falsely cheerful just to keep my hopes up. He found a way to be honest without ever making me nervous that I was "off track" or not going to hit my target score. I ended up getting a 730, which is exactly what I was hoping for. Not sure I could have done it without his help - can't give enough thanks, or a stronger recommendation!
