Videos vs. class
For me, the videos were way more helpful than the class. Unfortunately, I didn’t find the class very helpful/informative.

Did not get much help after I needed it after I took my first GMAT. Filled out a request for a 30min post exam evaluation and I never heard back (it's been a month). Haven't heard from my instructor. Sounds like once you're done with the course MP doesn't care to follow up. Poor experience.

Gracie, we're so sorry to hear this was your experience. It was most definitely not the one we'd hoped you would have with Manhattan Prep. We'd love to set you up with this session ASAP if it's still valuable for you. We'll reach out to you directly to coordinate.

I took the MGMAT in-person course in Spring 2015. While I found the course content to be thorough, well-delivered, and engaging, I think the course fell short on helping me develop an overall strategy to tackle the GMAT. Over the course of my GMAT study, I spoke with several MGMAT instructors (my course instructor, plus my post-course and post-exam assessment instructors) regarding strategies to improve my score. In each case, I found the MGMAT instructors' advice to be vague and not particularly actionable, and struggled to apply their advice to future practice problems and exams. I think the course would be worth it for half the price. But to be worth the full $1600, I think MGMAT needs to provide more personalized and actionable advice in addition to a good in-class experience.

I signed up for the live course to hold myself accountable to doing the work. There was WAY more work than I thought there was going to be. I wok about 50 hours per week and I would be spending at least 6+ hours trying to get it all done. I did like being able to go back and listen to the lessons, because I learned things from the mistakes that other people made. I ended up watching all of the lessons and doing all of the work, but on my on time. The writing section was great! I believe that's the reason that I got a 5

This course could be great if I was familiar with material. It is not a good course if you are new and learning all the concepts. I would recommend you to first find another online gmat course and complete the material before starting this gmat course. It will benefit you if you are familiar with material so you can only focus on solving problems and asking questions vs trying to understand the material.

I loved the online sessions and the material which are of great value. It would have been a complete prep if they provided easy to use online questions which have an explanation so that students can avoid searching online for answers (which is a waste of time). Navigator needs a lot of updates. The course is content based and interact videos are of top quality. The material I got was very high quality. Thanks guys.

Hi, Dikawar. Thanks so much for the feedback. We take it seriously, and are constantly striving to use feedback such as this to improve our courses and materials. Re: the explanations issue: We hear you, and we're working aggressively to close the explanations gap within the next few months. Here's why we haven't had explanations for every single OG question up to this point: 1. The OG changes each year, so it's a tremendous battle to keep up with full explanations for hundreds of problems. And, we don't see it as the most important battle because... 2. We've found that many students rely too much on doing every single question available and under-emphasize the importance of squeezing every bit of learning they can out of the questions they do. In order to maximize the efficiency of your prep, our focus is on depth of learning even over breadth. That said, we do have many question banks with explanations available on all topics. In order to determine which OG questions get explanations, we have focused first on providing explanations for the questions that we assign for HW and on other high-priority questions that students often ask about. As mentioned previously, however, you can expect full explanations within the next few months. We're also sorry that you found our guides repetitive; our goal is to make them as thorough as possible. We'd love it if you would email us ([email protected]) and tell us a bit more about your thoughts on our guides. We haven't heard that feedback before; perhaps there are some adjustments that we can make. Best, The Manhattan Prep Team

My instructor was average. Other programs allow you to retake the class if you choose to retake the GMAT, for how expensive Manhattan Prep is, there are very few resources for retaking the test. I know that the online portal is available for as long as you need it, but for me, the in the class learning is so much more valuable and I was really disappointed that Manhattan Prep wouldn't let you retake any of the classes when other programs let you do so.

Hi, Nicole. Thanks for your feedback. We'd love to talk with you to tell you more about the various resources that we offer any student after the course. Please request to speak with Brie by e-mailing [email protected] if you would like to discuss your experience further. We see that you've already met with an instructor for an hour to review how your GMAT went and to develop a re-take game plan (this is the Post Exam Assessment that every student receives), but please know that you also have full access to your online resources for 9 months after your course end date, and then another 6 months if you would like to request an extension. Those resources include Interact, our interactive video lessons that allow you to work through the entire course at your own pace. We also offer a deeply reduced rate if you would like to retake our course at any time. Please feel free to reach out and let us know if you have any questions. Best, The Manhattan Prep Team

I signed up for the classroom session. My instructor (Chris Peckover) was amazing. Engaging, funny, energetic, and had a great attitude. After class was over, I hit a stumbling block w/ self study and then I started doing private tutoring w/ Marc Fienberg - that experience was not nearly as impressive. Having done ~2-3 months worth of PT w/ Marc weekly, my score didn't improve at all (in fact, I took a CAT while working w/ him and my score dropped 70 points from my previous CAT). Marc did not work w/ me much on Verbal (even though CR was a clear weakness and even though I asked him to). Was very "on the clock". Now, studying on my own, discovered EMPOWERgmat and GMATClub and my score has climbed up 140 points above where I left off w/ Marc. Good: I like MPREP's CATs. Chris Peckover is a great instructor. Jamie Nelson also gave me an amazing PCA. Bad: Private Tutoring experience w/ Marc. Would I recommend? Ehh...
