We almost died in our flight from Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur. An old tire blew up during take off (luckily it did not happen during landing). Next flight pushed to 10 hours later. 75HKD (8 usd) vouchers were offered to us.
They offer nothing besides stupid points nobody want to use.
Fly with MH at your own risk - your life is worth 8usd to them.

Baggages broken
Hi all,
I recently traveled to Auckland and Sri Lanka via Malaysia Airlines, and unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience.
On both occasions, my baggage was damaged, with broken wheels. I lodged complaints twice, but I did not receive any response not even an apology which was quite frustrating.
Additionally, although in-flight WiFi was advertised, the connection was extremely weak and not sufficient even to load basic social media platforms.
Considering the high cost of the tickets, I expected a much better level of service. Overall, this experience was very disappointing, and I would not recommend this airline based on my experience.

No never again maylasian airlines vis Kuala Lumpur international airport terminal 1 - level 3 arrivals
No never again. I would not recommend stopping over at Kuala Lumpur international airport terminal 1 on level 3 arrivals at night time .... I had a really bad experience of staff where I all the unsafe and hardcore rude and aggressive staff work at night time. Staff on level clearly discriminated me.... I was sleeping in the Kuala lumpur international airport terminal 1 on level 3 and there were many many other travellers sleeping on the same level as myself. Several female and male and security came up to me whilst I was sleeping on the floor and demanded answers to their many questions and demanded to see my passport. They clearly targeted me because they are bullies and had nothing better to do during their shift at night .... bless the bullies must be very bored with their jobs and lives. These female and male staff and security staff have very poor communication skills are speak very hard and angry.... They make incredible hulk look and sound soft.

My disappointment with Malaysia…
My disappointment with Malaysia Airlines is not primarily about the schedule change itself. Flight changes happen. The real issue is that there appeared to be no effort whatsoever to find a reasonable alternative.
The replacement itinerary offered was significantly worse than the one we originally booked, adding unnecessary inconvenience to our journey. What I find most surprising is that I was able to identify several alternative flight options myself within minutes, yet Malaysia Airlines never presented any meaningful alternatives or showed any willingness to make the trip easier for us.
Instead of actively helping affected passengers, the response felt limited to presenting a single poor option and expecting customers to accept it. There was no flexibility, no creativity and no indication that anyone had actually looked for a better solution.
Good customer service is not about preventing every disruption. It is about making a genuine effort to help when disruptions occur. Unfortunately, that effort was completely absent in our case.
I expected far better from a full-service international airline.

Public warning for travellers using Malaysia Airlines.
Public warning for travellers using Malaysia Airlines.
Our checked baggage arrived with clear signs of tampering, and several personal belongings were missing on arrival. The matter was reported immediately through the official complaint process, and all supporting evidence — including photographs and correspondence — was submitted promptly.
Despite this, weeks later, Malaysia Airlines has failed to provide a proper resolution. Instead of addressing the facts, the airline has continued delaying the matter under the guise of “ongoing investigation,” while avoiding direct communication and refusing to provide a clear escalation contact.
A passenger checks in luggage in good faith, expecting the airline to deliver it securely. When baggage is returned tampered with and items are missing, the airline has a duty to investigate properly, communicate transparently, and take responsibility where evidence supports the complaint. In this case, that standard has not been met.
I am now documenting this experience publicly because customers deserve to know how such incidents are handled after payment is taken and service obligations begin. I am also seeking guidance through consumer protection channels regarding this complaint and the airline’s handling of the claim.
Travellers: photograph your baggage before check-in, photograph contents, record bag weight, and inspect immediately upon collection. Unfortunately, this experience has shown these precautions may be necessary.

Totally unforgiving treatment by Malaysia Airlines
"Totally unforgiving treatment by MAS"
I paid over 1,000 GBP for an upgrade to business class for my fare from Kuala Lumpur to London Heathrow in March. Just before take-off, out of the blue, a cabin crew came to me and said I had to move to the economy class, without giving a satisfactory explanation. When i asked why, he just said 'this is someone else's seat, you need to go to economy class' despite the fact that I have a business class boarding pass. I explained i had paid for my business class and he said you could request for a refund from MAS (totally besides the point). I was really embarrassed and humiliated by their rude behavior. I repacked my belongings and was escorted by a steward to a seat at the back of the plane, I became an object of curiosity and spectacle. It was the most humiliating flying experience I have had with this company. This would be the last time I fly with MAS.
Please do not use them as you might get similar treatment next time you fly with them. I have been travelling with them since college days in 1980s. Also beware of a name change if you have a loyalty account with them. They reversed my surname and my first names. So when I used my account to book, my name was wrong. I managed to get them to change it as they changed my name without my knowledge but got it wrong. Please check your booking properly as you will have to pay for an administration fee for mistakes even if they are at fault.
I have written to the airline in March but still waiting for the outcome of their internal investigation and for a full refund for my upgrade for a service never received.
I will take my complaint to the Ombudsman now to see whether something can be done. I will be very happy if they receive a well deserved fine.

Meals and Enrich Member
I am writing to strongly complain about two unacceptable issues I experienced recently.
1. Missed Meal Service on Flight MH 2597 from Kuching to KL on 7th May 2026:
I fell asleep during the flight. The cabin crew did not wake me for the meal service, nor did they set my meal aside or offer it as takeaway when I woke up. I received no food at all. It felt like nobody cared. This is poor service and far below the standard I expect from Malaysian Airlines.
2. Enrich Frequent Flyer Points Problem:
Your management/system requires passengers to register their full name when entering their MH/Enrich membership number during booking. This was never clearly stated upfront. As a result, I have been missing out on earning points for multiple flights due to this poorly communicated and user-unfriendly process.
Both experiences show a lack of basic care and attention to customers.

Poor handling of cancelled flight and misleading rebooking process**
am very disappointed with how my case has been handled.
My original flight was cancelled due to what was described as operational or safety-related circumstances. As a result, I was forced to rebook onto a completely different route, without being informed that my original flight might later become available again.
Shortly after, I discovered that the original flight was reinstated. At that point, I had already been pushed into selecting an alternative, which effectively removed my choice in the matter.
When I tried to resolve this through customer service, I did not receive a satisfactory explanation or solution, and I was unable to speak with a supervisor despite multiple requests for escalation.
Overall, I feel the handling of my booking was unclear and unhelpful, and the support experience was extremely frustrating.
Based on this experience, I will not be booking with this airline again, and I would advise other passengers to carefully consider their options before doing so.
I hope the airline improves its communication and customer support for future passengers.
