At no point during the booking or checkin process did they ask about meal options. When we requested it, they said it's too late. They only had meat options and expected us to starve for the 16 hours. The only other food we could get at this point (during the connecting flight) was dunkin donuts! They didn't even note the seat number or try to do anything to help the situation. Absolutely attrocious service and process.

Worse customer service ever !!!! Disgusting!!! They use phone operators from Philippines ! I bought a ticket from Pp Cambodia to Sri Lanka from Malaysia Airlines website. And also paid for excess luggage of 15kg more . Before the flight I call to confirm all my details are correct with the booking . When I arrive on the day of the flight at the airport Counter the 15kg was showing on there computer but they couldn't accept it coz the of error ( this was not just mine but there were other with the same issue . I was made to pay for a another 15 kg at airport price of $25 a kg !! Airport manager assured me when I arrive at the destination I can claim my money back and I need to pay to take my excess luggage . I called Malaysian Airlines they put me on hold for 1/2 hr each time and cut the line . I asked to speak to the manager they refused and then put me on hold and cut the line. This has happened over a dozen times now . Also I have screen shots of the airport booking info ( before and after ) they have been changed and not showing then previous payment for the 15kg that I paid before the flight. I still haven't got my money back !! And I don't think this air line will give it !! If anyone is flying Malaysia Airlines please keep a hard copy all the documents as they can change them !!? I am very disgusted with how they stolen my money and they must have done to others too .

One of the worst airlines I have travelled. I booked my flights 8 months in advance. A nightmare. Four main issues: 1) Only when logging in to manage my reservation 2 weeks before departure did I realise they had cancelled one of the flights on my journey and rebooked me onto an alternative flight which mean that instead of a 2 hour layover between connecting flights, it was now 8 hours! I was not informed of this change in flight schedule which I find absolutely abhorrent and unprofessional. 2) There was an alternative flight on the same day with the same route which would have resulted in a 4hour layover time which is undoubtedly better but they allocated me the earlier flight. No common sense at all and infuriating! 3) After multiple phone calls and emails from my travel agent requesting the alternative flight, they kept getting told it wasn’t possible to change the flight but without any explanation and we were then told it was fully booked but they would put us on a waiting list. However when I called to complain they said there was plenty of availability and the travel agent needed to request the change. So we went round and round in circles with the final answer being the flight was fully booked and nothing could be done. It took me quoting aviation law demanding either compensation or an alternative flight and daily messaging with a formal complaint to finally get switched to the next flight and guess what, at least 20 empty seats available on the flight! 4) Two people on the booking with same reference number. 3 out of 4 flights our seats automatically allocated next to each other which makes sense. Except the last 13hr flight from Kuala Lumpur to London where we were allocated seats 4 rows apart! I complained and complained at every step of the journey and nothing could be done because all seats had been allocated. Now firstly, I checked in 36hrs before the flight which would make you think that’s plenty of time to choose seats! But secondly, and most importantly, despite timing of checking in online, how does their system allow this to happen where if anyone can select their chosen seats it means a group can be split and sit separately! Every other airline has a system in place that would put people together despite time of check in and stop groups selecting random seats to their individual preference to prevent groups being split. What ended up happening is many groups were split up because their system allowed people who checked in earlier to select whatever seats they wanted including window and aisle seating living middle seats empty! Idiotic system to say the least and no thought process. Honestly, this airline is incompetent beyond belief and their systems are so archaic with the upper management staff not being of much help at all, probably because they can’t change the system and have no authority to make much change. Avoid at all costs!

Having received terrible customer service from Malaysian airlines I made a complaint through their website. I took them over 20 days to even assign a case handler. The case handler said that I would hear from them within 7-14 calander days on 28/07/2022. As of 20/09/2022 I've yet to hear anything and doubt I ever will. I called their customer service number today and after being placed on hold for a while they gave me an international number to call. I told them that I was not paying to make an international phone call to chase this and that I wanted a response as to why I had not been contacted. They said they would need to put me on hold again and after 20 minutes they decided to hang up on me. I would never fly with this airline ever again. They are by far the worst airline I have ever flown with.

The worst customer service I've had from an airline i actually got better service from third party booking agents, Malaysian airlines has effectively stolen my money, They cancelled my flights they then did not rebook the flight when I requested they then refused a refund. All of this on top of being hung up on by their contact centre staff being given no references to any of the conversations I had with them. 0.0 star

MAS is hands down the worst airline in the world - like Malaysians are fond of saying "Mana ada system?" Trying to do what with most airlines is a very simple thing - go to my online reservation and change a flight to another date - has proved impossible. First, the MAS website is out of date - office in Denpasar still listed, but long closed. You are a business - stay up to date. The MAS office at the airport looks at you blankly and says they only deal with baggage. International call service number is out of operation. Tried to finally change my flights online (for which I was hesitant becuae it only gives me the option to cancel flight(s), not change them LIKE EVERY OTHER AIRLINE IN THE WORLD - and a pop-up message says to call the international call center, which of course does not work. I've been flying MAS for close to 40 years and I have no other options based on the places I fly to, but I am frustrated beyond measure with this airline. I will seek any other alternative in the future. MAS, you have lots of other airlines whose web services you can mimic. Why can't you see that?

We travelled from London to Bali with Malaysian Airlines. We told them at the time of booking that my son had a severe peanut allergy. I made three subsequent calls about our booking and reiterated about the severity of my son’s peanut allergy. On the first flight, we were shocked when the crew began serving peanuts just after take off. The crew said they were aware of my son’s peanut allergy but it was their policy to serve peanuts regardless of passengers safety. They said I should have completed a form - no one had ever mentioned this before. They then handed me a form that they said I should sign for the removal of peanuts. This form was actually a waiver releasing them from responsibility in the event of illness due to peanuts they served on the plane. I refused to sign and they reiterated that the form wasn’t a waiver - it clearly was. I have never been so shocked at an airline’s disregard for the health and safety of their passengers. And their misrepresentation of a ‘legal’ document. Buried away on their website is their policy on peanut allergy (TrustPilot will not allow a weblink) It states: ‘Malaysia Airlines will not implement peanut-free or nut-free buffer zones and/or remove the service of peanut or nut snacks; nor make onboard announcements refraining passengers from consuming peanuts/nuts.’ If we had known about this we would never have booked with this airline. In the end, several other passengers kindly supported our plea to the staff to not serve peanuts on the flight so the staff reluctantly didn’t serve peanuts. Malaysian airlines are clearly behind the times relative to other airlines that have banned peanuts from being served on flights. If you or a fellow traveller have a peanut allergy please avoid this airline. They really do not care about your health and safety. We are dreading our return flight.

They cancelled my flight and re-booked me on an alternative with a 52 hr ( yes 52 hour!) layover for a connecting flight. No refund offered. They made it extremely difficult to get any credit for my ticket. Eventually took a month to get the credit note. To use the credit note, I had to call (could not re book online) Malaysian tel no. Waited 44 minutes to get through and after 1.3 hrs, they dropped the call. Another three international calls later, each one a minimum of 40 mins, They re-booked me on another flight. I never received the email ticket confirmation. The customer experience is the worst I have had in 45 years of flying. I strongly urge you not to use Malaysian Airlines based on my, and others have spoken to. experience.
