If I could give no stars I would. Arrived in Auckland on 12th December, 2 off our bags were missing. Myself and my daughter had just the clothes we stood up in. Filed a PIR along with about 30 other people. Arrived home yesterday and our bags are still under tracing. This airline used to be highly regarded by me but I will never use them again. They just 'apologise for the inconvenience' but you can't speak to anyone or contact them at all. They have as far as I am concerned stolen our belongings, including my daughter's Christmas presents, they have also stolen part of our holiday through stress, anxiety and constantly wondering if they were going to contact us. We are also significantly out of pocket as we have had to buy clothes and a suitcase. These were not the memories we were promised! The flights were all delayed and the staff don't seem to take the pride or care that they used to when I have flown with them previously

We reached to New Zealand on 20th December and today is 3rd December. When we reached the airport they had lost our bags. Our three bags were lost. They did not do anything. Our friend had also lost his bags , then he got his so he told us to see if we have gotten them. We got 3 bags but the last one was still missing. We have written more than 10 emails and have fine more than 30 Calls . They are not responding at all and we still haven’t received our bags. The flights are delayed every time. They misplaced our flight without even telling us and they are telling that it was an accident. Worst airline. They are so untidy. Washrooms are not cleaned at all. Never travel with this airline again.

Unpleasant surprise when we had to cancel our 6 economy tickets from BKK to KUL - Penalty for cancellation (although flight is only in 8 months) is higher then the actual price for the tickets. This is confidence trick I have not seen before. Despiteless of the quality of the actual flight I cannot give more than 1 star only for such bad experience.

Nightmare staff. From the useless lady at checkin who made me go through the Kuala Lumpur airport to “wrap” my baby carrier at a paid station despite in never being an issue (and ended up being not needed at all) to the awful steward lady who refused to give a piece of bread to my 10 month old. What is wrong with the staff? Malaysian people are usually super nice but all the bad apples seem to work for MA. On top of that, the seats are not comfy, the plane is very sensitive to turbulence and the entertainment system kept on being defaulty and needed reboots constantly on the whole plane.

Diabolical. You can never speak to speak to anyone on the phone - you hang on for ages, they then always hang up. Flight delayed and no info on whether I could get my next one. Disgraceful service all round. Trying to checkin online states “waitlisted” - I think even easyJet would offer better service. Go with Qatar, Qantas or Cathay- avoid Malaysian airlines!

Whatever you do, do not use this airline. It is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We have probably spent about 20 hours trying to get through and speak to someone. Every one you speak to tells you something different and the only thing the company care about it getting as much money as possible from you. It is an absolutely disgusting company and they have caused us a huge amount of additional stress. They put the phone down on you mid conversation when they can’t be bothered to help you. Cannot express how absolutely shocking this company are.

Departing and returning terminal at Heathrow changed with no update from airline. Tried calling call centre 11 times but after waiting on hold for anywhere between 5 and 15 mins, I just kept getting cut off so unable to speak to anyone. When I finally did manage to speak to someone, the guy I spoke with couldn't understand me properly and kept asking about extra leg room??? Still unresolved, flying next week with no new e-tickets reflecting the terminal building change. I only found out about this when I went to book my airport parking and they ask for your flight number. Looking at all the other comments, I am now both regretting my decision to book with them and worried for what next week holds.

Our son was killed in an accident and we needed to get to Australia quickly early in August. We bought return tickets from London to Sydney via a travel agent. Having asked the agent if we could change the return date if necessary when I came to do so we ended up buying a new ticket. Once home I started trying to get a refund on the unused part of the ticket and after 3 months got £670 instead of £2585. The agent told me it was up to the airline to give refunds and the airline told me it was the agents responsibility!! Every time I called Malaysia airlines I found them difficult to understand, they talked over me and didn't listen. I tried to get information about the refund and whether the information supplied by the agent was accurate but the airline wouldn't tell me. I simply needed to know whether the amount refunded was what they had sent back to the agent and , if there was a penalty, what did that amount to. The members of staff I spoke to were polite but should really have passed me on to someone higher in the organisation who could make decisions and over-ride rules. I wrote to the customer service department 3 times and am still waiting for a reply. The original return ticket was cancelled and could have been re-sold. They had over 15 days to do that. Between the airline and agent I felt, given the circumstances of the situation, they could have worked together to give us a full refund promptly. It's taken 3 months to get the small amount paid. Shame on them for their lack of compassion and empathy.
