Filthy bathrooms, minimal service, food or drinks, uncomfortable seats
I’m only giving Malaysian Airlines two stars because our flights actually left when they were supposed to (unlike many many other reviewers experiences). We flew Sydney,KL, Sri Lanka return. Check in was okay but the staff are clearly not interested in customer service. This is just a precursor of what’s to come once you board the flight. Woeful to worse ever flying experience with an airline. The most uncomfortable seats I’ve ever sat on a plane. The flight attendants only came near the passengers with food or offers of drinks at the very beginning and towards the end of an 8 hour flight. That includes water, which is ridiculous considering you’re made to tip out your water bottles going through security and no facilities provided to refill, therefore everyone is relying on the cabin crew to supply water. Well good luck! When we asked for bottled water they said they’d run out and they gave us a small plastic cup full. The food that is offered is meagre and relatively tasteless, with only one ‘substantial’ meal for the entire 8 hour journey, offered at the very beginning. Then nothing! For several hours! If you want to start a fasting diet (as I’ve seen another reviewer suggest) this is a perfect opportunity, otherwise bring some snacks. Both ways the aircrew made announcements throughout the flight stating there was turbulence (I’ve experienced more turbulence with my washing machine on spin cycle), and that passengers were to remain seated with seat belts fastened. Having experienced this on both flights it felt like an excuse they use for the crew to not attend to passengers during the flight. They even advise people not to use the toilets which is understandable since nobody cleans them for the entire flight. They. Were. Disgusting!!!! Both ways! There was even toilet paper trailing from the ones behind our seats and the staff never bothered to clean it up, let alone the toilets themselves. Must be beyond their pay grade? But tell me, who the hell is supposed to do it then? On an 8 hour flight with hundreds of people, men, women and children all using the same toilets and nobody cleaning them, surely that constitutes as a major health hazard. Summary - AVOID, AVOID, AVOID
