This airline is fraud.
We booked way before paid up everything and booking confirmed with infant travel. We had bassinet seat alloted.
Today we got email flight model is changed and alloted random seat. Now to get basinett they asked us to cough up 210$ again. As we have infant, we end up paying. They say no bassinet seat is free.

Don't bother
A booking was made but a mistake was made so I cancelled the booking within 20mins. Promised the refund in 5 to 7 working days. Nearly 5wks later and still no refund despite calling them constantly. Refused to put me through to a supervisor and generally very unhelpful. In the end I raised a dispute with my bank who refunded me the full amount. They will now Contact Malaysia airlines for reimbursement. Very poor service

This company is a complete disaster!
This company is a complete disappointment. It’s the worst company I have ever seen in my life. Despite paying for my flight months ago, they still haven’t issued my ticket. I’ve made hundreds of phone calls, spent thousands of minutes, and had many arguments. Still, no result. I will file complaints with the criminal court for fraud and also take legal action through the consumer court.

Missed Flight Due to Malaysia Airlines’…
Missed Flight Due to Malaysia Airlines’ Misinformation – No Accountability, No Support
I had a terrible experience with Malaysia Airlines that resulted in significant financial and emotional stress. I missed my flight from Paris to Melbourne (MH21, 30 May 2025) because the airline sent incorrect gate information via SMS and email. I arrived at the gate they instructed—only to find out the flight had departed from a different gate. Despite arriving early, I missed the flight due to their mistake.
There was no Malaysia Airlines helpdesk or representative at Charles de Gaulle Airport, and no physical office in Melbourne either. You're left completely stranded when something goes wrong—no local contact, no human help.
I tried calling their customer service multiple times. The calls were routed to Malaysia, where the quality was extremely poor, and the agents were difficult to understand due to heavy accents and unclear communication. They were unprofessional, unhelpful, and gave no solutions—just vague apologies and no action.
I ended up spending over AUD $2,000 on a last-minute flight, hotel stays, and other expenses just to get home. And so far, the airline has done nothing to address the issue or offer compensation.
Malaysia Airlines clearly lacks the infrastructure, accountability, and customer service standards that travellers expect—especially during emergencies. I would strongly recommend avoiding them, particularly for international travel where support is crucial. If they make a mistake, you’ll pay the price—not them.

Buyer Beware
I purchased 2 tickets from Manila to Kuala Lumpur on Malaysia Airlines on 24 May 2025. This was to coincide with my arrival in Manila on Gulf Air, and selected a flight that provided me ample time to connect between flights.
Only 4 days later, Malaysia Airlines emailed me a notification that they had cancelled the flight and had rebooked me on a flight over 2 hours earlier providing me only 1 hour 20 minutes to connect between flights. They provided me 3 choices – full refund, accept the flight, or reschedule the flight.
I contacted Malaysia Airlines to ascertain if that was sufficient time to connect between the flights and was advised only 1 hour was required. On that basis, I accepted the change.
What they did not bother to tell me was that Gulf Air arrives in terminal 3 and Malaysia Airlines departs from terminal 1 in Manila.
I consulted with a friend who knows Manila airport well who advised me there was 0% chance of him making the connection as there is no inter terminal transfer within the security area of the airport. Making the terminal transfer requires you to go through customs and immigration in terminal 3, then take an inter-terminal shuttle that operates every 30 minutes to terminal 1 through heavy Manila traffic, then pass through immigration again at terminal 1. He advised that a minimum of 3 hours was required.
I then went online and found the same information. Minimum 3-4 hours is required.
The basis on which I accepted the change was based on false information provided by Malaysia Airlines.
Even though they had clearly provided me false information, after contacting Malaysia Airlines multiple times, I was told each time that he had accepted the change, and a refund or further change would incur full penalties. They offered me approximately $60 in refund on $400 worth of tickets, or would charge me approximately $160 to change to a flight the following day without offering any accommodation in Manila, ignoring the fact that their flight cancellation was what instigated this disruption to begin with.
As I found out subsequently, Malaysia Airlines is renowned for cancelling flights when their passenger loads are not high enough.
Buyer beware - do not fly Malaysia Airlines.

It's more than 8 months that we have been waiting for a refund based on my medical condition! Every time I call your Support team, same answer is" we will call you back in 7 days" or "please call us back in 7 days"... is it a joke??

BEWARE of Malaysia Airlines they can cancell without being penalised.
Delayed and cancelled flights ruined our Borneo trip.
Flight from Kuching to Mulu, late taking off. On getting to Mulu, an airport that seems to have very few landing aids like ILS, the weather was too bad to land. we circled for 30 bumpy flyig minutes before diverting to Kota kinabalu, we deplaned and waited in airport lounge not knowing what was happening. Transpired plane was refuelled and we et off for Mulu again. Same thing weather too bad to land (you would have thought the airline would have known this before departure!) we again circled in very bumpy flying conditions for around 30 minutes before we were diverted to Miri airport and abandoned there
We were asked to check in for a morning flight to Mulu, which turned out to be in the afternoon. I asked about overnight hotel accommodation, food or transport only to be told that Malaysia airline don't have to provide anything as its weather related. So we were left to fend for ourselves at an unknown destination. We booked a hotel, transport and got food. Could not claim on travel insurance as the cost was less than our insurance excess.
We set off at around 9am from Kuching and got to a hotel at around 6pm, a long day with no help and even food from Malaysia airlines!!!
Malaysia airlines kept issuing tickets for these flights that were forced by weather as if to indicate changes to our booking were natural. So we could not complain.
Our next calamitous Malaysia airlines trip was on our return to Malaysia to catch international flights from Kuala Lumpur. Our flight was cancelled from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Lumpur at 04:30am by text.
Emails were sent but not received until early the next morning. Flight 15:00 from Kota Kinabalu arriving Kuala Lumpur at 17:40 was effectively cancelled and we were booked on the 21:15 flight from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Lumpur the arrival time missed our international connection at 21:30. What is so annoying is that Malaysia airlines said our flight had been rescheduled for this 21:15 flight. Not true the 15:00 was cancelled and we were put on the already scheduled 21:15 flight. Malaysia airlines just amalgamated these two flight and pretended our original flight times had been changed. Liars.
This flight cancellation cost us rebooking fees for our international flights, transport to and from the airport additional meal and an extra night hotel accommodation which cost us around €1100. Were Malaysia airlines bothered, NO. are you covered by any passenger rights like the EU flights NO
so they can do what they want knowing they don't have to pay out compensation.
AIR HELP stated: No passenger rights apply to your flights
We’ve gone through the details of your disrupted flights and determined that it doesn’t fall under any passenger rights. This means we have no ground to request compensation for your flights

Bad Customer Service
Bad Customer Service
1.) they don't have any live chat in their website
2.) finally, I reached Messenger on FB and get some reply. However, every single message takes 30 mins to reply. I spent more than a hour but still didn't get my answer
3.) I booked a code share flight via Qatar Airways. Qatar Airways asks me to select the seat from MH website but MH ask me to check in on Qatar Website. The booking reference doesn't work on MH website. This is a loophole.
