mac.bidReviews of mac.bid

I live down the street from Schertz,Tx location. My only suggestion is that you go inspect items before bidding on anything with a high price and do not go by the AI pictures or the Open Box pictures on the listing. It says that in fine print and i didn't see it. I would say 90% of the items that i have purchased were as advertised but a few were missing parts and picture showed all parts and an open box looked good in the pic but the item was a return filled with a great value bag and broken parts.

I truly enjoyed Mac Biden at first but they do a lot of shady business. They never take care of anything but if you do something wrong as a consumer, you’re hit with extra charges! Their customer service SUCKS! You can win a bid and told you won the bid but they will keep the bidding going! Their response is “it’s a glitch in the system!” Done with them…..

Mixed review. I have had good and bad experiences with Mac.bid. The first few items I thought were great. They were returned items, but in excellent condition. The last item I bought was a composter. It was listed as open box. When I got it home, I was shocked to find out that it was absolutely filthy with coffee grounds in the bottom and caked on soil on the inside. I can’t imagine someone returning an item in this condition. I took it apart and cleaned it up. It seems to work, but this is a lesson for me. Mac.bid recommends that you inspect items before bidding. Do that first or risk being shocked and disappointed. I’m surprised that Mac.bid wouldn’t have noticed this. It should have said clearly used. Knowing this, I will not stop bidding, but understand the risks. The process of bidding was easy overall.

Be smart. Be cautious.. Stuff is sometimes new and a bargain, other stuff used and ok, worse, much is JUNK. Their fine print is clear. So for small purchases under $10, don't pay the $7 insurance and understand you're taking a risk. For any amount over $20, ALWAYS pay the $7 insurance and figure you'll likely return half the things you buy. So add about 30% to your final bid amount for what the item will really cost you. Don't get caught up in last minute auction emotion. Set what percent of new discount you'll need for the extra aggravation and risk. And if the bid price goes above it, let the "you've been outdid" guy have it, another equivalent item WILL come up. So if new list price is $100, real selling price is probably $90. You should not pay more than $60 after fees and insurance. So bid no more than half of the shown new list price. $50 final bid price + $3 lot fee, $7 insurance times two, $3.50 buyers premium =70.50 - only 15% less than the likely new real selling price. Be smart. Be careful.

Prices are great. Yes it’s a risk at times but more times than not the products I got was great. Rare occasion it was something not as advertised. Highly recommend and the prices you pay save you a lot of money

Let me be clear in stating that the employees at the actual store locations in Pennsylvania (Butler, Pgh. Mills, Monroeville, Robinson, Washington) are absolutely wonderful…Especially the employees who check your membership at the front door and the individuals who check you out when you leave. However, I’ve unfortunately had to contact their customer service contacts via email at help at MAC.BID.com several times. I’ve never contacted them with a complaint. I’ve only sent several questions that I had pertaining to membership, etc. Each time, the people who respond are very short, display absolutely no customer service skills and nothing short of rude. They portray an attitude that I am interrupting their day and they can’t be bothered to answer my questions. I’ve trained over a thousand CS representatives in my 25-year career for a fortune 500 company and If ANY of our employees ever treated a patient/customer the way these Macbid employees do they would’ve been written up and retrained at the very least. This company needs to immediately provide extensive customer service training to the individuals who are supposed to “help” their customers. If they aren’t able to professionally answer an email, which is the lowest level of customer service someone could possibly provide other than a chat bot, they shouldn’t be working with customers.
