The mac.bid app is incredibly glitchy. You will be charged for additional services you did not sign up for, and if you reach out to customer service, they will refuse to reverse the charges and threaten to deactivate your account.

I bought two refrigerator water filters. The were both opened and not sealed. Now I didn't spend a whole lot of money on them, but a simple look would have revealed that they are used. I also bought a dozen golf balls. A simple look would have revealed that they took a good number of balls out and replaced them with shag balls. Think of all the money they make off the low-cost items that are simply junk and now worth spending the extra insurance cost on. I'd give them less than one star if I could.

Maxbid attracts the worst sellers. Twice I have made purchases from Maxbid and both times the product did not work. I even asked the seller if it worked and he said "of course". Low rent products reflect poorly on Maxbid.

Be careful before doing business with them. If you ever receive an email saying your payment failed, call immediately. If you do not, they will blame you for their own miscommunication and delays. And if their slow response pushes you past your pickup deadline, they will still keep your money even though they caused the confusion and failed to reply within the timeframe promised in both their autoresponder and by customer support. Last week, I won an auction at 11:45 PM on Thursday and paid the next morning. Soon after, I received an email saying there was a problem with my payment. I replied right away, confused because the funds had already been deducted and my transaction showed as successful. I did not hear back until Monday, and by then, my items had been removed and marked as abandoned. When I contacted support for a refund or reinstatement, they refused and blamed me. First, they said it was my responsibility to check my account. I had, and it showed the payment went through before they said it hadn't. Then they blamed my email provider, even though I replied the same day, and they did not respond until Monday, which was still within their own 1 to 2 "business day" window. Next, they claimed I missed the 3-business-day deadline. Monday was the third business day. Their definition of business days apparently only applies to when the store is open, not when their support team operates. Finally, they scolded me for not calling, even though I had been communicating in writing to ensure I had confirmation and no further issues at pickup. After several back-and-forth emails, the representative named Angela abruptly ended communication, clearly realizing her responses contradicted the company’s own policies. Her tone was shockingly unprofessional, including exclamation points in customer service emails. In short, they caused the problem, blamed the customer, and kept the money. Their policies are inconsistent, their communication is poor, and their staff could use serious customer service training. I will be contacting my bank regarding their misleading definition of business days, since I was clearly not granted the full three business days they mentioned. Proceed with caution. I had been a good customer. Our household had been purchasing through them for about two years, and this is how they treat loyal customers.

Well, I'm 0 for 2 and DONE with this sleazy company wasting my time. The first time was a bait a switch... but I got my money back. The second time was due to their inept communications (their website and emails don't support each other) and very poor customer service. Won a bid, as you know it doesn't show up on their website to the next day of which they want to be paid and they were via an existing card on account. Being busy I, simply relied on the email I received that night. It stated pick up from Sunday - Sat. 12-6p. I went to go pick up on Sunday and was told I had abandoned the product cuz their website stated to pick up in 3 days. Only I had no reason to go back to the website since I had the email. And, during this time NO email about the abandoning, nothing about what they had done on my account on their website. So I wasted my time and went to their business to get the product only to be told the above. I asked for my money back and the manager stated he didn't like my attitude so he was not going to refund my money. This after telling me "You can't read". And, being very confrontational. It was as if he was enjoying being condescending to a customer like telling me the "customer is not always right" after I told him I didn't like his attitude and petty personal reasons for denying me a refund. DONE!
